About the Role:
CrowdStrike is in search of a Senior Engineer for our virtualization environment to support existing infrastructure and evaluate and build out a new hypervisor platform. The candidate will play an important role in the architecture and management of our production systems environments.
What You’ll Do:
Support large-scale production deployments for on-prem virtualization infrastructure
Lead support of complex technical systems architecture and make recommendations for improvement
Represent the team as a technical leader and provide direction and insight for projects, discovery, and problem management
Coordinate virtualization technical resources for the purpose of driving both internal and external team projects to completion
Analyze requirements and develop solutions of technical problems based on complex business needs
Hold regular, frequent project meetings to address challenges and drive milestones
Report regularly to leadership on the status of critical projects
Ability to write simple to moderately complex scripts and programs for automation, tools, frameworks, dashboards, alarms. (example: PowerShell, Python, PHP, JavaScript, Go, etc.)
What You’ll Need:
9+ years of engineering experience, preferably in a production role
Expertise with virtualization administration, preferably OpenStack, VMWare, FreeBSD, Storage Area Networks in a clustered environment
Expertise with OpenStack Nova, Juju, Charms, etc.
Expertise with Linux engineering and administration for thousands of bare metal and virtual machines
Experience leading projects and delivering solutions through completion
Demonstrated leadership ability of technical employees
Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required
Must work effectively and professionally with cross-functional groups across divisions, worldwide, as part of a team
Must exhibit meticulous attention to detail, and have the ability to make good, timely decisions
Demonstrate self-learning capabilities, taking initiative in a fast pace/quickly changing environment
