As a Senior Infrastructure Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in designing, implementing, and managing our organization's IT infrastructure. You'll be responsible for ensuring the availability, reliability, and security of our systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Infrastructure Design: Lead the design and architecture of the various tooling infrastructure, ensuring scalability, reliability, and security.
- Infrastructure Management: Oversee the day-to-day management of servers, storage and cloud-based services to maintain optimal performance.
- Project Leadership: Lead infrastructure projects, from planning and implementation to monitoring and optimization.
- Troubleshooting: Resolve complex infrastructure issues, including hardware and software problems, and guide junior engineers. Recognized as an expert in the systems they are assigned to monitor.
- Capacity Planning: Monitor system performance and capacity, recommending enhancements and scalability.
- Security Compliance: Ensure infrastructure compliance with security policies, procedures, and standards. Provides insights into opportunities for automated testing and regression checks that ensure ongoing compliance.
- Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of infrastructure configurations, procedures, and best practices.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Expertise in server, network, and storage technologies, with a strong foundation in design and architecture.
- Extensive experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP, and experience using infrastructure-as-code techniques (e.g. Terraform, CloudFormation, Pulumi).
- Proficiency in scripting languages like Python and PowerShell to automate and optimize processes.
- Extensive experience in SQL databases (preferably PostgreSQL).
- Experience in Linux (Debian) and Windows server environments, virtualization technologies, cloud platforms, and automation tools.
- Comprehensive understanding of security principles and best practices.
- Strong leadership capabilities combined with excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently while effectively collaborating within a team environment.
- Relevant certifications, such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate, or CompTIA Network+, are advantageous.
