About the Role:
The mission of GEN’s Consumer Digital Safety Segment is to protect our customers’ information, identities, devices, homes, and families with GEN technology solutions. Every day we protect more than 50 million consumers and small businesses in over 60 countries around the globe. GEN's broad array of industry-leading, award-winning technologies include device protection for PC, Mac and mobile (iOS and Android), secure backup, password management, and parental controls. Norton recently developed a new set of innovative technologies to protect internet-connected devices and families in the home (IoT). GEN has also joined forces to provide the broadest set of digital safety solutions by leveraging GEN’s comprehensive Identity Protection Services.
What You Will Do in This Role:
Work alongside highly skilled and experienced engineers to tackle some of the most challenging problems in the privacy, security, and identity space. Research and suggest the implementation of new technologies. Work with a cross-functional and international team in a collaborative environment. Help deliver solutions to millions of our customers on Mobile and Desktop platforms. We’re hiring experienced developers to help us fulfill our mission.
What You’ll Need to be Successful in this Role:
BS/MS in Computer Science or related field
10+ years of hands-on programming experience building apps and services for mobile or desktop platforms.
As a seasoned Agile Software Development Engineer, you will be part of a team that creates popular market-leading privacy products.
Participate in Agile development activities including sprint planning, stand-ups, retrospectives, and demos.
Passionate about customer problems and learning new technologies.
Deliver incremental working software and test automation with each sprint.
Implement and test several large components in the product.
Drive Engineering (Unit test, Integration, Automation, Code Coverage, Static Analysis, etc) best practices.
Strong knowledge in web development, including REST, SOAP and MVC
Possess good knowledge on Spring framework and Hibernate, JPA transactions and AOP
Knowledge on App servers (Tomcat) and Message Queue (RMQ)
Experience with unit testing framework such as Junit/TestNG.
Demonstrated experience in SQL and data modelling skills.
OAuth and Experience in cloud platform (Azure/AWS)
Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills.
Good to have experience developing cloud software services and an understanding of design for scalability, performance, and reliability.
Participate in peer code/design/ test reviews and be receptive to fellow experts helping you improve your craft.
Debug and solve some of the most complex problems plaguing our customers.
Constantly raise the bar by learning new technologies and sharing them with the larger team.
