AMS Support & Incident Management
- Provide L2/L3 support for SAP BO/BI issues
- Troubleshoot and resolve:
- Report failures (Web Intelligence, Crystal Reports)
- Data inconsistencies between ECC and BW
- Job failures (ETL / data loads)
- Manage SLA-driven tickets via tools like ServiceNow / JIRA
- Support and enhance reports built using:
- SAP BusinessObjects (WebI, Crystal Reports)
- SAP BW Queries (BEx)
- Validate report data against ECC tables (e.g., VBAK, BKPF, MARA)
- Ensure business-critical reports are always available and accurate
- Implement minor enhancements / CRs:
- Modify existing reports
- Create new queries or dashboards
- Prepare functional/technical specifications
- Coordinate with development teams for implementation
- Monitor and support:
- Data loads (InfoPackages, DTPs, Process Chains)
- Delta loads from ECC to BW
- Identify and fix:
- Data load failures
- Performance bottlenecks
- Optimize:
- Slow-running reports
- BW queries and data models
- Improve query performance using:
- Aggregates
- Indexing
- Query design best practices
- Strong understanding of ECC data sources:
- FI, SD, MM modules
- Validate extractors and data flow from ECC to BW/BO
- Handle issues related to:
- LO Cockpit
- Generic extractors
- Delta mechanisms
- Perform:
- Unit Testing
- Integration Testing
- UAT support
- Manage transports across landscapes (DEV → QA → PROD)
- Maintain:
- Technical documentation
- KT documents
- Report catalogs
- Support knowledge transfer sessions
- Identify opportunities to:
- Automate reporting
- Improve data quality
- Enhance user experience
- 6–12 years of SAP BO/BI experience
- Strong exposure to ECC AMS / Support projects
- Experience in handling production support environments
- Hands-on with:
- Web Intelligence (WebI)
- Crystal Reports
- Universe Design (IDT / UDT)
- Experience in report scheduling and publication
- Strong knowledge of:
- BW Data Modeling (InfoObjects, DSOs, InfoCubes)
- BEx Queries
- Process Chains
- Experience in:
- Data extraction from ECC
- Delta handling
- Knowledge of:
- SQL / database concepts
- ECC tables (FI, SD, MM)
- Understanding of:
- Data warehousing concepts
- ETL processes
- ITSM tools:
- ServiceNow / JIRA / Remedy
- Exposure to:
- SAP Solution Manager (nice to have)
- Exposure to:
- SAP BW on HANA / BW/4HANA
- SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC)
