Lead production SRE tasks for Java-based applications across Apache/NGINX and app servers (Tomcat, JBoss, WebSphere, WebLogic). Manage Kubernetes/containers, CI/CD (GitHub, Jenkins, SVN), monitoring and alerting, troubleshooting using APM/ELK/RUM, write SOPs and RCAs, run release/deployment operations, collaborate with engineering and vendors, and mentor peers. Requires strong Linux/bash and automation-first practices.
Work Experience: 7 to 12 years
- Exceptional skill in configuring, running, monitoring, and tuning Java applications running in an Apache/NGINX with Tomcat configuration, JBOSS, WebSphere, WebLogic, and JMX Console.
- Experience with GitHub, Jenkins, and SVN is required.
- Experience with containers and Kubernetes.
- Good to have experience with one or more scripting languages such as Shell/Curl scripting.
- Exceptional skill with Linux/Unix bash command line.
- Demonstrable preference for approaching work via automation as a first choice.
- Good to have experience with monitoring tools like AppDynamics and ELK/Kibana.
- Strong troubleshooting skills utilizing log analysis, application performance management (APM), and real user monitoring (RUM).
- Experience providing hands-on monitoring as well as authoring monitoring and alerting using multiple toolsets.
- Proven ability to write effectively in English for a business audience.
- Exemplary practice in root cause analysis, documenting findings, and providing evidence.
- Experience in writing standard operating procedures and following them rigorously.
- Demonstrable experience with production operations issue management and response.
- Ability to collaborate with internal support and engineering teams as well as third-party vendors on problem-solving.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to track multiple issues to resolution.
- Capability to lead a technical team of peers toward issue resolution.
- Experience using issue/workflow ticket tracking systems.
- History of acting as a subject matter expert and training peers and stakeholders.
- B.S. degree in Computer Science, Systems Administration, or 5+ years of systems management experience in a professional production setting.
- Experience with deployment and release management.
- Self-motivated and collaborative.
- Good communication skills.
