Sr. UI Designer

Your impact
As a Sr UI Designer, you will leverage your expertise in intuitive, dynamic, accessible user interface designs to turn concepts and solutions into stunning interfaces.
In this role, you will collaborate with product management, development, and other stakeholders to execute a unified vision while upholding user-centric design principles. You will be responsible for creating and maintaining UI components, pattern and style libraries, and ensuring our visual language effectively communicates with end-users. Drawing from a foundation in UX and usability, you will ensure that the interfaces you design enhance the experience and meet user needs and expectations. You will balance independent work with collaboration, applying your skills and expertise while ensuring alignment with UX, product, and development teams.
We are a small team so you are expected to be self-directed and reliable. But we are also a tight-knit group that collaborates in creating the best experience for our users, making sure all our designs fit together in a cohesive suite of tools.
What you will do

• Develop and maintain design systems in a controlled, peer-reviewed manner with special attention given to the impact on new and existing software.
• Design concepts, wireframes, high-fidelity compositions, and prototypes in collaboration with UX design or independently as needed.
• Present your designs to development and QA teams and deliver assets in a timely manner.
• Assist with user research and usability studies to translate findings into design concepts and prototypes.
• Execute comprehensive design QA and ensure that features are implemented as intended.
• Utilize existing data analytics and define new metrics to assess the impact of UI and usability changes.
• Utilize design thinking methods in day-to-day work, including collaboration with designers, product management, marketing, strategy, and leadership to support departmental and company objectives.
• Push the boundaries of traditional UI design and explore new ways to engage and delight users.

Your required experience/skills

• 4+ years of experience as a UI Designer, UX Designer, UX Developer or similar role.
• Expert knowledge of UI principles as well as the latest design trends and emerging technologies.
• Expert knowledge of design tools such as Figma, Adobe CS, Sketch, or similar design applications.
• Strong understanding of UX principles and best practices.
• Strong working knowledge of common frontend development frameworks.
• Experience conducting and reporting on face-to-face and remote usability tests, and other qualitative research methods.
• Experience with common data/analytics tools.
• Portfolio showcasing work across different industries and user bases.

Your success in this role will look like:

• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience and desire to mentor and support junior designers.
• Experience working in an on-shore/off-shore environment and reporting to remote leadership.
• Experience and desire to work in a highly collaborative and transparent environment.
• Experience in global design, localization, and accessibility.

It would be nice if you had:

• Sufficient frontend development skills to create functional prototypes (in browser) or provide frontend development guidance.
• BA or MA in design field.
• Familiarity with agile development methodologies and experience working with agile teams.
• Airline or travel industry work experience, especially Inflight Connectivity and Inflight Entertainment.
