Job Summary
Synechron is seeking a skilled SRE/Observability Engineer to join our technology team. This role is central to ensuring the reliability, scalability, and observability of our software products across diverse technology platforms including cloud, IoT, mobile, and blockchain. The Engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and maintain solutions that enhance system health, automate operations, and ensure high availability, thereby contributing to Synechron’s business objectives of delivering seamless and robust digital experiences.
Software Requirements
Required:
Strong proficiency in one or more programming languages such as Java, Python, or Node.js (3+ years)
Experience with cloud platforms (preferably AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud)
Working knowledge of SDLC and Agile methodologies
Familiarity with version control (Git), issue tracking (JIRA), and collaboration tools (Confluence)
Preferred:
Experience with mobile, IoT, or blockchain technologies
Hands-on with observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack, or similar
Knowledge of container orchestration (Kubernetes) and CI/CD pipelines
Overall Responsibilities
Collaborate with software development, QA, and operations teams to understand and design solutions aligned with business needs.
Develop technical specifications and maintain detailed documentation for new features and system enhancements.
Stay updated with emerging technologies and best practices, recommending innovative solutions to existing systems.
Conduct thorough code reviews ensuring quality and maintainability across codebases.
Provide technical assistance and support to team members in resolving operational and software-related issues.
Partner with testing teams to assure reliability and quality of software releases.
Facilitate continuous improvement of operational processes related to reliability and observability.
Technical Skills (By Category)
Programming Languages:
Required: Java, Python, Node.js (essential)
Preferred: Additional scripting or automation languages
Databases/Data Management:
Basic knowledge advantageous
Cloud Technologies:
Required: AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud experience
Preferred: Cloud-native observability and monitoring services
Frameworks and Libraries:
Preferred: Kubernetes, Docker, Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack
Development Tools and Methodologies:
Required: Git, JIRA, Confluence
Preferred: Agile, Scrum methodologies
Security Protocols:
Awareness of security best practices relating to cloud and software deployments
Experience Requirements
Minimum 4 to 6 years of professional experience in software development or site reliability engineering.
Proven ability to work across cross-functional teams resolving technical and operational challenges.
Experience in Agile environments with strong SDLC knowledge.
Prior exposure to observability, monitoring, or incident response is beneficial.
Day-to-Day Activities
Participate in daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and technical discussions.
Collaborate to design and implement reliable software and infrastructure systems.
Develop, test, and deploy code focused on automation and scalability.
Conduct code reviews and provide constructive feedback.
Monitor system health and respond to alerts to maintain service uptime.
Support team members in troubleshooting and resolving technical problems.
Keep abreast of industry developments and integrate new technologies as appropriate.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related discipline.
Relevant certifications in cloud platforms, DevOps, or SRE practices are a plus.
