The Staff Engineer in Hardware Engineering will establish strategic plans, create circuit schematics and PCB layouts, perform stress tests, and analyze embedded systems. They will lead a team, ensure integration with software engineers, and mentor junior designers and testers, all while adapting to project changes.
Responsibilities:
- Participates with other cross functional leads to establish strategic plans and objectives. MRD reviews and specs finalization.
- Create schematics and layout designs for circuits, PCBs (Printed Circuit Boards), and other hardware systems. Select appropriate materials and components based on performance and cost criteria.
- Knowledge of CAD software for designing & viewing PCBs and Gerber files.
- Perform stress tests to evaluate hardware durability and reliability. Optimize designs for performance, cost, and reliability.
- Experience in using Testing equipment like Oscilloscopes, Spectrum Analysers, Power Supplies, Electronic Loads, Logic Analyzers, Thermologgers, Protocol Analysers – PCIe, USB etc.
- Experience in Industry standard Probing and Measurement techniques and Familiarity with EMI/EMC Compliance testing and their governing standards
- Ability to analyze complex embedded systems and develop efficient, innovative solutions. Ability to Analyze and Interpret information independently, from the JIRA tickets.
- Experience in basic Python, for automation of HW test cases.
- Willingness to stay updated with the latest technologies and standards in embedded systems and wireless communication.
- Work closely with software engineers to ensure seamless integration of hardware and software.
- Experience in leading HW development teams, mentoring junior Designers & testers, and contributing to strategic decisions.
- Ability to adapt to rapidly changing project requirements and technologies and Ability to work closely with firmware, and QA teams to ensure seamless integration and high-quality product delivery.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Education: Should have a minimum of Bachelors/Masters Degree in Electronics Engineering.
- Candidate for the Staff Engineer role should have 10+ years of experience in product development.
- Should have proven track record in developing computer/storage products for the enterprise markets.
- Candidate should have strong technical background, risk assessment and decision making skills, and demonstrated experience in developing complex products.
- Candidate should have strong leadership and mentoring skills and proven track record in building high performance teams.
