Job SummaryWe are currently seeking a skilled Stormwater Engineer to join TYLin's growing Water team. The ideal candidate will contribute to the Hydraulic and Hydrologic Modelling of stormwater systems including separate and combined systems, with the potential to bring valuable expertise in sanitary sewer collection and water distribution modelling. - Hydraulic and Hydrologic (1D and 2D) Modelling of stormwater systems
- 1D/2D hydraulic modeling standards development and utilization (mesh resolution, inlet treatment, tidal boundaries, and flood extent calibration).
- Model calibration and validation, including statistical benchmarks and use of multiple storm events.
- Modeling scenario development and assessments including climate change, sea level rise, and future land use scenarios to enhance resiliency planning.
- Model alignment with FEMA mapping standards to ensure consistency with federal requirements.
- Modelling of combined and separate collection systems
- Develop Stormwater Management Plans
- Stormwater Water Quality Modeling
- Provide support for Infrastructure Planning Studies, including Master Plans, Secondary Plans, and Permitting.
- Undertake various technical responsibilities spanning engineering analysis, design support, servicing needs assessments, and servicing capacity evaluation.
- Supporting and mentoring junior staff
WHAT YOU WILL BRING
- Engineering Degree/Diploma or similar qualification is required, accompanied by a minimum of 5 years of experience and proficiency in modelling software.
- PE certification in Maryland and Virgina or the ability to obtain with 6 months.
- Expertise in software platforms such as InfoWorks ICM, InfoSewer, and SewerGEMS is essential. Familiarity with additional platforms like InfoWater, WaterGEMS, and others would be an added advantage.
- Strong proficiency in ESRI ArcGIS and demonstrated capabilities in hydraulic and hydrologic analysis.
- Strong understanding of FEMA standards and requirements
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and technical writing skills with attention to detail.
