Responsibilities
- Operates independently on multiple projects tasks and handles the team to achieve successful project delivery.
- Participates in all phases of design, project planning, execution, and testing.
- Produces application artifacts per SDLC, Agile, and DevOps audit requirements.
- Implements high-quality, cost-effective, and sustainable solutions.
- Meets today's needs with the potential to scale or adapt to future or new emerging technologies.
- Rest API's Development and Maintenance
- Integration with third Party applications
- Designs technical solutions based on business requirements and architectural guidelines, leveraging AWS capabilities, the Java Spring framework, and various other technologies.
- Proficient in core Java in addition to various libraries and related technologies (Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, Maven, Git, Docker/Kubernetes)
- Designs web services (SOAP, REST, microservices) and APIs as Spring Boot applications.
- Participates in all aspects of development including design, delivery, and operations (DevOps)
- Defines and executes technical strategy, including team alignment to tasks and implementation.
- Identifies areas for process improvement and automation.
- Understands and advocates for secure coding practices (OAuth, Secrets Management, etc.)
- Facilitates code reviews and mentors the team on best practices.
- Coaches, mentors, and supports junior to mid-level team members.
Requirements
- 8+ years of software engineering/development experience
- 3+ years of demonstrated technical leadership (tech lead, lead developer)
- Excellent communication skills and a demonstrated ability to lead software developers via design, mentorship, peer reviews, and coaching.
- Expertise in explaining complex technical topics to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong foundation in algorithms, design patterns, and efficient coding practices
- Deep understanding of software development best practices and secure coding principles
- Proficiency with Java, including Core, Spring / Spring Boot (JDK 8, Open JDK 11)
- Experience using Maven, POM files, dependency management, etc.
- Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, and Amazon EKS (Elastic Kubernetes Service)
- Experience designing, building, and testing web services / microservices / APIs.
- Experience with JavaScript and frameworks such as React, Angular, Node
- Experience writing and analyzing complex SQL.
- Working knowledge of CI/CD practices
- Experience with Atlassian suite, mainly JIRA and Confluence
- Significant experience with various AGILE methodologies, and some exposure to DevOps
- A passion for continuous learning and a desire to share business and technical knowledge.
