The Technical Business Analyst (Tech BA) is a quality champion within Agile teams, primarily responsible for driving product excellence through the independent creation and execution of test plans, use cases, and automated testing frameworks. By validating requirements, data models, and edge cases early and continuously, the Tech BA reduces translation gaps between Product, QA, and Engineering, ensuring smoother delivery and higher product quality. Candidates will ensure robust validation of business requirements and data integrity, leveraging advanced tools and analytics to proactively identify and resolve issues — especially in complex payment and data environments. Requirements gathering and documentation are supported as needed, but the core accountability is rigorous, independent testing and test automation. The Tech BA proactively identifies gaps, challenges assumptions, and drives continuous improvement across testing practices.
1. Testing & Automation (Primary Focus)
- Independently create comprehensive test plans, use cases, and test scenarios to validate business and technical requirements, ensuring full traceability to business and technical requirements.
- Implement, maintain, enhance, and execute test automation frameworks (with a strong preference for Playwright), ensuring reliability, scalability, and continuous improvement.
- Design and maintain automated test suites integrated with CI/CD to enable reliable, fast feedback on build quality.
- Apply advanced SQL skills to review, analyze, and validate data across multiple datasets, supporting rigorous testing and data quality assurance.
- Thoroughly test data and validate results using automated testing tools, proactively identifying discrepancies, anomalies, and patterns with advanced AI-driven analytics.
- Lead quality assurance activities, with a focus on payment validation, data accuracy, and compliance.
- Drive high defect detection efficacy in non‑production environments through robust test design and automation.
2. Quality Assurance Leadership
- Collaborate with delivery teams and Product Owners to ensure that testing activities are aligned with project goals and timelines.
- Assist with user acceptance testing (UAT), providing guidance and support to client testers.
3. Requirements & Documentation (Staff Augmentation/Secondary)
- Support requirements gathering, documentation, and process mapping as needed.
- Author clear, concise, and testable business requirements in the form of Agile user stories, as required.
- Produce supporting documentation such as process flows, wireframes, and use cases to facilitate solution design and implementation when required.
4. Continuous Improvement & Agile Practices
- Identify and recommend improvements to requirements management tools, templates, and processes.
- Serve as an expert and advocate for OneMagnify’s Agile methodology and best practices.
- Flex into requirement gathering or story refinement during bandwidth gaps, providing organizational agility without sacrificing quality discipline.
5. Other Duties
- Support “train-the-trainer” initiatives and assist in developing training documentation as needed.
- Provide second-tier support for triaging customer inquiries and managing the documentation of user stories or defects identified post-implementation.
- Apply high attention to detail in all aspects of requirements gathering, documentation, validation, and data testing to ensure accuracy and compliance.
NOTE: Team and project stakeholders in North America require the need for flexibility in working hours for meetings for Agile ceremonies, UAT or urgent test cycles.
DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- Demonstrated ability to independently create and execute test plans, use cases, and automated test scripts.
- Proven experience in implementing, maintaining and improving test automation frameworks.
- Hands‑on experience designing, building, and maintaining automated test suites as part of CI/CD pipelines.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills focused on testing and data validation.
- Experience with Playwright, Liquibase, and advanced SQL in testing contexts.
- Hands-on experience designing, building, and maintaining automated test suites as part of CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience in payment validation and processing is highly desirable.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Business Analyst and/or Quality Assurance Engineering in a technology-driven environment with a proven track record in quality assurance.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience with Agile development methodology.
- Bachelor’s degree in business, economics, or a technology-related field.
- Automotive industry experience preferred.
- Experience with Oracle and Postgres in Google Cloud Platform (GCP) environments is strongly preferred.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills in a distributed/global team environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio.
- Experience in root cause analysis and troubleshooting data or process issues.
