As a Technical Writer at Runpod, you will treat our documentation as a core product. You’ll be responsible for creating the technical foundation that helps developers navigate our GPU cloud platform, ensuring our documentation is as high-performance as our infrastructure. You will work closely with marketing, product, and engineering teams to translate complex systems into seamless developer experiences.
Responsibilities:
- Product Ownership: Own docs.runpod.io end-to-end, including information architecture, content strategy, structure, and the continuous improvement of all documentation surfaces.
- Experience Design: Maintain a documentation experience that enables both human developers and AI agents to quickly understand, integrate, and operate on Runpod with minimal friction.
- Technical Content Creation: Produce high-quality documentation for APIs, SDKs, tutorials, quickstarts, and conceptual guides, ensuring accuracy and consistency as the platform evolves.
- AI-Augmented Workflow: Leverage and experiment with AI tools to accelerate content creation, automate documentation updates, and improve the overall "search-to-solution" journey for users.
- Cross-Functional Partnership: Partner deeply with product, engineering, and DevRel to ensure documentation is shipped in lockstep with new product releases.
- Standards & Scalability: Establish documentation standards, tooling, and review processes to ensure high signal-to-noise across all technical content.
Requirements:
- Experience: 3+ years of experience in technical writing, specifically within cloud computing, AI infrastructure, or developer tools.
- AI Literacy: High level of comfort and proficiency using AI tools (LLMs, coding assistants, etc.) to enhance the writing process and improve documentation efficiency.
- Technical Stack: Deep familiarity with Markdown and Git-based documentation workflows (Docs-as-Code).
- Domain Expertise: Familiarity with AI, machine learning, and GPU technology concepts.
- Communication: Exceptional ability to explain complex distributed systems and technical concepts clearly and concisely.
- Research Skills: Strong ability to "self-start" on technical topics, digging into code and interviewing engineers to grasp complex subjects quickly.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Technical Writing, or a related field preferred.
- Successful completion of a background check.
What You’ll Receive:
- The competitive base pay for this position ranges from $120,000 - $180,000 usd. This salary range may be inclusive of several career levels at Runpod and will be narrowed during the interview process based on a number of factors, including the candidate’s experience, qualifications, and location
