Technical Engineering Manager – Agentic AI Engineering

As a Technical Engineering Manager on the Boomi Enterprise AI team, you will lead the engineering effort that turns experimental AI capabilities into enterprise-grade, production-ready agentic AI platforms. You will define and drive the “paved road” for AI development at Boomi—balancing innovation speed with reliability, security, and operational excellence.

This role sits at the intersection of AI research, platform engineering, and enterprise product delivery. You will guide teams building LLM-based agents, multi-agent workflows, memory systems, and tool-using AI, while ensuring these systems meet Boomi’s standards for scalability, governance, and observability.

You will be both a technical leader and people manager, enabling teams to ship intelligent features faster and safer, while mentoring engineers and shaping the long-term AI engineering strategy.

• Lead and grow a team of engineers building agentic AI platforms and services used across Boomi products.

• Drive the transition of “Customer Zero” AI prototypes into secure, scalable, and observable production systems.

• Own the technical vision and execution for agentic AI infrastructure, including orchestration, memory, evaluation, and observability layers.

• Partner closely with AI/ML researchers, product managers, and platform teams to align AI innovation with enterprise requirements.

• Establish engineering best practices for LLM-based systems, including reliability, safety, data governance, and cost control.

• Ensure AI systems are designed for enterprise readiness, including compliance, security, auditability, and operational support.

• Translate ambiguous AI research outcomes into clear technical roadmaps, milestones, and deliverables.

• Act as a technical escalation point and hands-on contributor for complex architectural decisions.

• Foster a culture of experimentation, learning, and operational excellence within the AI engineering team.

• Proven experience as a Technical Engineering Manager or Tech Lead leading platform or AI-focused teams.

• Strong technical background in AI/ML systems, preferably involving LLMs, RAG pipelines, or agent-based architectures.

• Experience scaling experimental systems into production-grade enterprise platforms.
  Solid understanding of cloud-native architectures, distributed systems, and reliability engineering.

• Ability to balance hands-on technical leadership with people management and delivery accountability.

• Strong cross-functional communication skills and experience working with research, product, and platform stakeholders.
