This role will be working with the Maconomy ERP testing team, which is responsible for managing the implementation and usage of our technical test tools, as well as supporting technical testing approaches within the wider QA, Test & Release team. You will provide technical as well as best practice support for all areas of test automation to the business.
Reporting to the Maconomy QA Test and Release Manager within the Global QA Hub.
What you'll be doing:
- Test Automation Development:
- Develop, maintain, and execute automated test scripts using tools such as Selenium, Appium, JUnit, TestNG, or similar.
- Automate functional, regression, smoke, and load tests to validate application functionality, performance, and stability.
- Test Planning and Strategy:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (developers, product managers, business analysts) to understand requirements and define test automation strategies.
- Identify critical test cases for automation based on project requirements and technical architecture.
- CI/CD Integration:
- Integrate automated test scripts into the continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipeline to ensure automated tests are run as part of the build process (using tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, CircleCI, etc.).
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to automation in the CI/CD pipeline.
- Test Execution and Monitoring:
- Run automated test cases and monitor the results, logging defects and tracking issues through to resolution.
- Analyse test failures, investigate root causes, and work with developers to resolve issues quickly.
- Reporting and Documentation:
- Create detailed test reports and provide test results to stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.
- Document test scenarios, test cases, and scripts for ongoing reference.
- Test Maintenance:
- Regularly update and maintain existing automated test scripts to reflect changes in the application or requirements.
- Refactor and optimize test scripts to ensure scalability, maintainability, and efficiency.
- Collaboration and Mentorship:
- Collaborate with developers to ensure testability of application features and provide feedback on code quality.
- Mentor junior team members in automation best practices and tools.
- Cross-browser and Cross-platform Testing:
- Develop automated tests for different browsers (Chrome, Firefox, Edge, Safari) and mobile platforms (iOS, Android) to ensure cross-platform compatibility.
What you'll need:
- Proven Experience of maintaining Test Automation frameworks for multi-systems and programmes (e.g. Desktop, Web, Mobile, Integrations, etc…)
- Experience with integration interfaces testing and tooling
- Experience with DevOps frameworks and processes
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills both with technical and non-technical audiences
- Experience in ERP automation in both HCM and Finance domain
