Essential Responsibilities
- Define validation strategies for testing the control platform of GE Power Conversion drives.
- Develop test application and automated test scripts using generic scripting tools to perform the testing.
- Create test scenarios for hardware modules supporting different communication protocols namely EtherCAT, Modbus, Profibus, Profinet, Canbus, IEC81850, etc.
- Validate remote monitoring systems, KPIs, loggers, GE VISOR systems.
- Prepare test plans, test cases, bug reports and other documents to meet the quality standards.
- Prepare test rigs for validation and should be able to decide on the hardware and software required for the tests.
- Manage test laboratory, plan hardware and tools required for upcoming tests, keep inventory and track component movements.
- Perform extensive regression tests and tests on new features.
- Develop automated test scripts using Python.
- Collaborate with Product Managers, Team Leads, and Developers to understand technically the product features and new implementations.
- Interact with multiple stake holders located in other parts of the globe.
- Take up customer issues on priority and provide timely resolution for the issues to gain better customer satisfaction index.
- Support embedded software testing for various domains like O&G, Power Systems, Metal and Marine.
- Execute the design, analysis, or evaluation of assigned projects using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product / program requirements
- Document technical data generated by the assigned project consistent with engineering policies and procedures
- Provide timely communications on significant issues or developments. Participate in teams assigned to address organizational initiatives and generic issues.
- Engage in all aspects of product development ranging from requirements analysis, code development and testing.
- Work with cross platform engineering teams for development and execution of product enhancements, product upgrades, and new product introductions.
- Develop and implement embedded software ranging from high-level application to low-level hardware device drivers.
- Develop embedded software to suit various domains like O&G, Power Systems, Metals and Marine.
- Develop front end applications using Microsoft technologies (Visual Basic, Visual C++, C#, .Net).
- Analyze embedded code to determine root cause of defects and implement corrective actions.
- Expertise in IEC61850 Protocol.
- IEC61850 System Configurator Tool (SCT) and IED Configurator Tool(ICT) development.
- Develop ICT/SCT embedded feature to existing PLC programming tool.
- Understand IEC 61850 protocol Functional design requirements and develop a new ICT/SCT Tool for our Products.
- Strong Industrial Experience on IEC61850 Edition-1 and Edition-2, MMS /Goose/SMV communication.
- Basic Understanding of SNTP/PTP/HSR/PRP/ FTP Protocols.
- Basic Understanding of IEC62443 and IEC62351 standards.
- Work experience on IEC61850 Simulators and Troubleshooting tools.
Qualifications/Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical / Electronics from reputed institutions.
- Minimum 1 year of experience in industrial development and validation environment.
- Good experience in C, C++, VC++, C#, RTOS, Python.
- Wide experience in testing Controller redundancy.
- Good knowledge on the industrial communication protocols like EtherCAT, Modbus, Profibus, Profinet, Canbus, OPC, OPCUA, etc.
- Good knowledge in Ethernet, TCP/IP.
- Good knowledge on scripting tools.
- Excellent debugging skills.
- Basic understanding about Cyber Security.
- Experience in managing test platforms.
