Job Responsibilities:
REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
1. Must have valid toolmaker license
2. Must have good verbal, written, organizational, communications, presentation & time management skills
3. Able to understand, anticipate, follow and provide direction while exercising maturity of judgement.
4. Able to maintain confidentiality and use discretion and tact.
5. Must be able to perform basic computer functions.
6. Apply Magna Charter and How We Work Together Principles in day-to-day interactions.
7. Physically capable of performing essential duties of the job.
8. Able to work overtime to meet customer needs.
9. Knowledge of 5S systems, standardized work and other lean manufacturing tools.
10. Able to work all three shifts, as required.
DUTIES:
1. Provides regular feedback, input, advice & guidance, Coaching & Teaching to his/her team with the purpose of helping the Tooling Team to improve and develop, using the Presstran Handbook, HWWT(How We Work Together), Magna Charter, as their guiding principles
2. Assists with and/or completes repair and modification to dies and processes with toolroom personnel.
3. Assists in development of new/improved methods relating to press shop safety, quality and productivity.
4. Participates in planning of manpower, overtime scheduling, etc.
5. Monitors toolroom day to day related press support activities i.e., last off meetings, creating work orders, ensuring proper die tagging & ensures standardized work process are followed.
6. Creates & directs action plans with the tooling teams to complete assignments within a set timeline.
7. Helps to co-ordinate, sustain & improve preventative maintenance programs with toolroom & production.
8. Requests training for toolroom personnel as required and participates in Apprentice training.
9. Assists with capacity planning and press loading to meet future objectives.
10. Ensures 5s practices are maintained.
11. Requests materials and supplies for repairs and improvements.
12. Completes First Aid and/or accident reports immediately after each incident and ensures that reports are submitted by the end of each shift.
13. Develops and maintains peer relationships. Effectively builds and fosters teamwork within the department.
14. Works with production to ensure tools are ready to schedule.
15. Conducts team meetings as required.
16. Provides input into the Performance Review process.
17. Participates in the design and/or redesign of new or used tooling.
18. Follows and adheres to requirements of current customer quality and environmental management systems standards.
19. Abides by all plant health, safety and environmental rules, regulations, policies, and procedures and ensures that employees work in a safe and healthful manner in accordance with the occupational health and safety legislation.
20. Performs other related duties as required.

Equipment: Various industrial machinery and equipment, various hand tools, cranes, forklifts, office equipment
Software: Microsoft Office, Spread sheet programs
RESPONSIBILITY AND WORKING CONDITIONS:
Under the general direction of the Toolroom Area Leader, the Team Leader confers regularly with other Divisional personnel on matters related to toolroom/stamping/assembly operations. The incumbent requires excellent organizational and communication skills, both written and verbal. The Team Leader works in both office and plant environments and may be exposed to elements such as noise and temperature.
