Provides human resources leadership, guidance and consultancy to a transport regional operations leadership team and support staff; responsible for implementing and operationalizing human resources policies and activities, including, but not limited to, guidance on employment law as well as regulatory, Company policies and philosophies, recruitment, performance management, compensation, organizational change, leadership development and human resources systems.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:
- Provide expert insight into people and organizational issues while acting as a strategic member of the regional operations team. Translate business strategies and priorities into appropriate actions while anticipating and planning for long term human resources needs.
- Understands the dynamics of the business and drive human resources practices and processes that will create an effective organization.
- Actively participate as a member of the assigned leader's leadership team. Coach Business leaders on leading and managing their organizations effectively.
- Deliver HR strategies and programs for assigned client groups (e.g. performance management, annual HR planning, succession planning, recognition and rewards, and recruiting) Initiate, develop and drive the adoption of organization and process improvements.
- Facilitates the resolution of employee-relations issues and recommends appropriate actions accordingly; Leads change management initiatives.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
EDUCATION: Bachelors/4 Yr Degree
YEARS OF RELEVANT WORK EXPERIENCE: 3+ years
YEARS OF MANAGEMENT EXPERIENCE: NA
CERTIFICATIONS / LICENSES: PHR/SPHR Preferred
SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
- Competent in all HR functional areas (staffing/recruiting, compensation, learning & development, etc.), and thorough knowledge of applicable employment and regulatory laws.
- Collaborative skills applied to influencing peers and other leaders and senior management in making business decisions and solve complex problems, resolve disagreements with informed, rational debate.
- Receives employee relations complaints; researches and conducts necessary investigations, secures appropriate documentation and makes recommendations to resolve the complaints based on the investigation findings. Works with the Legal organization as needed
- Effective interpersonal skills both in one-on-one situations with all levels, and in facilitating group meetings.
