Travel Product Manager - The Auto Club Group

What you will do:

Provides leadership in the strategic positioning of Auto Club Group (ACG) Travel products and services in order to meet member needs, build company revenues and meet corporate objectives. 

Responsible for strategy and development of travel products in a manner that supports growth of AAA Travel Agency strategies and objectives, including:

  • Tours
  • Cruises
  • ACG developed group travel products
  • AAA Joint Ventures or club owned products, including AAA Exclusive Vacations, Pleasant Holidays, AAA Member Choice Vacations
  • AAA Vacations in consultation with AAA National work groups
  • Travel Insurance
  • Strategic partners, such as Hertz
  • Member travel experience enhancements, such as excursions and discounts

Manage select key travel supplier accounts, with responsibility for annual planning, program development, and performance.

Build annual plans to grow ACG results in alignment with our strategies and partner priorities, manage relationships with our travel partners to secure increasing levels of co-op marketing funds and overrides. Assess performance and identify actions that will grow ACG’s sales results with our targeted segments and overrides to maximize ACG profitability and deliver planned P&L results.

Act as a travel product subject matter expert to support AAA Travel Agency sales development activities.

Represent ACG on Travel Partner Advisory Boards and represent ACG strategically on AAA National work groups and task forces, driving ACG leadership in the Federation.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

No direct reports, but manages key Travel accounts as well as relationships with various Travel vendors.

Required Qualifications (these are the minimum requirements to qualify)

Education (include minimum education and any licensing/certifications):

  • High school diploma.
  • Possession of a valid State Driver’s License

Experience:

  • Significant experience in developing and implementing travel products
  • Planning, developing and maintaining client relationships
  • Preparing and presenting proposals
  • Leading cross-functional engagement to meet or exceed sales goals and objectives

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Ability to work in a self-directed manner to identify, plan and develop travel products that drive sales and profit growth
  • Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills
  • Working Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications for word processing, spreadsheets and presentations
  • ACG products and services
  • Marketing and sales techniques
  • Deep knowledge of travel industry trends, practices and travel regulations (ARC, IATAN)
  • Travel industry and supplier relationships
  • Financial management principles required for planning profitable growth

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Marketing, Sales, or Hospitality

  • Preferred 5 years of experience in the travel and tourism industry with a specific emphasis on cruises

  • Prior experience with Salesforce and CRM tools

  • Proficient in Excel and PowerPoint

  • Strong background in financial management through reporting, assessment, analysis, and recommendations regarding supplier performance within assigned portfolio.

  • Experience communicating financials into actionable plans to drive growth

  • Understanding of how to utilize data to make informed decisions

  • Strong written and oral communication skills

Work Environment

This position is able to work remotely from a home office location but will require frequent travel based on seasonality, industry and corporate events both domestic and internationally. This is subject to change based on amendments and/or modifications to the ACG Flex Work policy.
