Who you are

Metropolis Technologies is seeking an experienced and dynamic Vice President of Enterprise Systems Transformations to lead our enterprise-wide transformation, encompassing the implementation of Oracle Fusion ERP and Workday HCM. This is a highly critical and visible role, responsible for the successful end-to-end delivery of integrated financial, human capital, and operational systems. The ideal candidate will be a seasoned program leader with a proven track record of navigating complex, multi-vendor implementations, mitigating risks, and driving significant organizational change to achieve strategic business outcomes.

What you'll do
  • Program Leadership and Strategy
    • Define and articulate the overall program vision, strategy, scope, objectives, and success metrics for the integrated Oracle ERP and Workday HCM implementation
    • Develop and manage a comprehensive, integrated program plan, including detailed timelines, resource allocation, and budget across ERP and HCM workstreams
    • Ensure the program aligns with Metropolis's overarching business strategy, financial goals, and enterprise readiness objectives
  • Risk Management and Value Realization
    • Proactively identify, assess, and mitigate program risks, with a critical focus on preventing "shelfware" by aligning system readiness and adoption with contractual capacity commitments
    • Develop and implement strategies to ensure maximum value realization from our significant investments in Oracle and Workday, driving optimal utilization and ROI
    • Manage and resolve complex issues, dependencies, and conflicts that arise across the program
  • Vendor and Partner Management
    • Lead and manage relationships with external systems integrators (SIs), third-party consultants, and software vendors (Oracle, Workday)
    • Oversee vendor performance, ensuring adherence to contracts, SOWs, and service level agreements (SLAs)
    • Act as the primary point of contact for high-level commercial and strategic discussions with key vendors
  • Integration and Architecture Oversight
    • Provide strategic oversight for the design and implementation of seamless
integrations between Oracle ERP, Workday HCM, and other critical enterprise applications
    • Ensure data integrity, consistency, and security across all integrated systems
    • Guide the overall solution architecture to meet current and future business needs
  • Team Leadership and Development
    • Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing, cross-functional internal core project team (comprising functional leads, data specialists, change managers, etc.)
    • Foster a collaborative environment between internal teams, external consultants, and vendors
    • Champion knowledge transfer from external partners to build sustainable internal capabilities
  • Stakeholder Engagement and Communication
    • Establish and manage a robust program governance structure, including regular reporting and presentations to the CEO, ELT, and Steering Committee
    • Act as the primary communication conduit for all program updates, challenges, and successes to executive leadership and the broader organization
    • Drive organizational change management (OCM) efforts, ensuring effective communication, training, and stakeholder engagement to maximize user adoption
What we're looking for
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, Finance, Human Resources, or a related field. An MBA or advanced degree is preferred
  • 15+ years of progressive experience in IT and business leadership  roles, with at least 8-10 years directly managing large-scale, complex ERP and HCM implementation programs.
  • Demonstrated, hands-on experience leading successful, full lifecycle implementations of both Oracle Fusion ERP (or a comparable tier-1 ERP such as SAP S/4HANA) and Workday HCM
  • Proven experience managing multi-vendor environments and complex system integrations
  • Experience in a high-growth, pre-IPO, or publicly traded company environment is highly desirable
  • Exceptional program management skills, with a deep understanding of methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, Hybrid) and governance best practices
  • Strong financial acumen, including experience managing multi-million dollar program budgets, forecasting, and a clear understanding of ROI
  • Superior leadership, negotiation, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical and business concepts to diverse audiences, including executive leadership
  • Proven ability to influence, collaborate, and build strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels of the organization and with external partners
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to translate business objectives into actionable program plans
While not required, these are a plus:
  • PMP, PgMP, or other relevant program management certifications are a plus

What you need to know about the Chennai Tech Scene

To locals, it's no secret that South India is leading the charge in big data infrastructure. While the environmental impact of data centers has long been a concern, emerging hubs like Chennai are favored by companies seeking ready access to renewable energy resources, which provide more sustainable and cost-effective solutions. As a result, Chennai, along with neighboring Bengaluru and Hyderabad, is poised for significant growth, with a projected 65 percent increase in data center capacity over the next decade.
