Vice President, Government Engagement
Overview
The Vice President, Government Engagement will lead Mastercard's efforts with government stakeholders to solve for the challenges in the areas of financial inclusion, citizen services, economic development and government operational excellence.
The Role
This role focuses on aligning Mastercard's product, service and ecosystem capabilities to strengthen our domestic relevance, drive the sales of services, platforms, solutions, and expand Mastercard payments as the economy continues to digitize. He/she is responsible for new growth shoots in Mastercard's business in Indonesia and Timor-Leste through strategic partnerships and projects with the Indonesian government and its public sector.
This senior role will be a part of the Indonesia leadership team, reporting into the Indonesia Country Manager. This individual will be accountable for Mastercard's overall engagement with the Indonesian government. He/she will lead conversations with senior government stakeholders including at a Ministerial level, both to advocate for Mastercard as well as to mediate and facilitate where required. He/she is accountable for the abovementioned business objectives and will lead cross-functional teams across the Mastercard organisation to design, develop and deliver on projects.
All About You
We are seeking an energetic and enterprising individual with a proven track record in business development specifically with governments. In addition to superior communication skills, a high degree of initiative and agility, as well as experience in technology and service delivery are pre-requisites. Demonstrating an actionable understanding of relevant public sector priorities, projects and stakeholders, as well as experience in public policy and advocacy will be highly regarded.
The Candidate must be:
• Able to integrate knowledge across disciplines, including technology, operations, sales, product, marketing, compliance and risk.
• Self-driven, organized and pro-active with ability to multi-task
• Entrepreneurial and commercially focused with proven influencing skills
• Experienced in working on government business, tender process, managing government relationships, and co-developing a solution with government
• Capable of mobilizing programs across multiple organizations (customer; partners; suppliers) and managing delivery to successful outcomes
• Able to strongly articulate the case for public administration to embark upon complex, technology-enabled transformation initiatives
• A critical thinker and solution-oriented
• Post Graduate, MBA preferred.
