Responsible for writing engaging scripts for MicroDrama series, collaborating with directors, and adapting real-life moments into narratives. Requires 2-6 years of writing experience in short-form storytelling.
We are building a new MicroDrama vertical focused on high-impact short-form storytelling. The Writer will be responsible for crafting compelling, emotionally engaging, and binge-worthy scripts that resonate with digital-first audiences. This role requires someone who understands the pulse of internet storytelling, thrives in fast production cycles, and can translate ideas into powerful narratives within 30–120 seconds per episode.
What You’ll Do:
- Develop story ideas and concepts for MicroDrama series across genres (romance, thriller, slice-of-life, youth culture, etc.
- Write scripts, dialogues, and shot breakdowns suited for short-form episodic content
- Collaborate closely with Directors, Creative Producers, and Editors to ensure the narrative vision translates into execution
- Adapt real-life moments, trends, or themes into dramatized, high-stakes micro narratives
- Experiment with different narrative styles and formats based on audience insights and platform performance
- Manage multiple storylines simultaneously while meeting fast-paced deadlines
- Ensure scripts are crisp, emotionally charged, and optimized for attention retention in the first 3–5 seconds
Skills & Attributes for Success:
- 2–6 years of writing experience in short-form storytelling, digital content, screenwriting, creative agencies, or media/OTT platforms
- Strong command of storytelling structure, character arcs, and visual writing — even in ultra-short formats
- Ability to think from a creator’s lens: what hooks the viewer, what makes them share/continue to episode 2
- Comfortable working with ambiguity and quick turnarounds
- Solid cultural awareness — you understand both small town and metro youth culture and trends
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and openness to feedback
Nice to Have:
- Exposure to web series, branded content, social video, or creator-led content
- Experience with youth-oriented content or storytelling on Short-Content/Reels/MicroDrama platforms
