The Role

In Systems Management at Kyndryl, you will be critical in ensuring the smooth operation of our customers’ IT infrastructure. You'll be the mastermind behind maintaining and optimizing their systems, ensuring they're always running at peak performance. 
Not only will you be responsible for managing and maintaining the IT infrastructure, but you'll also have the opportunity to work on cutting-edge technologies and innovative solutions that will shape the future of the industry. Your technical prowess will be put to the test as you troubleshoot critical customer situations and provide timely solutions to keep their systems secure, reliable, and efficient. You'll be the go-to expert for sizing and optimizing systems, ensuring our customers' business performance is always world-class.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure automation processes run smoothly without manual intervention, improving operational efficiency.

  • Ensure regular backups of critical data and maintain disaster recovery plans with Tivoli products.

  • Automate backup processes and verify the consistency and integrity of backups.

  • Regularly apply updates to ensure that the Tivoli software remains up to date, secure, and stable.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to system performance, job execution failures, or configuration problems.

  • Work with other teams to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.

  • Monitor system resource usage and plan for resource scaling based on data collected by Tivoli tools.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

  • 10+ Years Experience in zLinux Tivoli Administrator

  • Install and configure Tivoli software (such as IBM Tivoli Monitoring, IBM Tivoli NetView, IBM Tivoli Workload Scheduler, etc.) on zLinux systems.

  • Set up Tivoli environments to monitor and manage the zLinux infrastructure effectively.

  • Ensure proper integration between Tivoli products and other enterprise systems.

  • Monitor zLinux system performance, including CPU, memory, disk, and network utilization using Tivoli Monitoring tools.

  • Configure and maintain system monitoring, alerting, and reporting capabilities to ensure optimal system performance.

  • Use Tivoli tools for proactive monitoring, identifying potential bottlenecks, and troubleshooting performance issues.

  • Implement Tivoli Workload Scheduler (TWS) for automated job scheduling and orchestration of tasks across zLinux systems.

  • Use Tivoli Storage Manager (TSM) or similar tools to manage backups and data recovery strategies for zLinux systems.

  • Set up Tivoli for high availability and disaster recovery (HA/DR) scenarios to ensure business continuity in case of system failures.

  • Automate failover procedures and ensure that Tivoli components can quickly recover from failures.

  • Periodically test disaster recovery plans to ensure readiness.

  • Work with network administrators, system engineers, and application teams to ensure Tivoli tools are correctly configured and integrated into the infrastructure.

Preferred Technical and Professional Experience

  • Systematic and troubleshooting skills

  • Configure Tivoli Identity Management for secure user authentication and authorization across zLinux systems.

  • Enforce security policies and ensure compliance using Tivoli’s security management tools.

  • Audit and report on user access, changes, and activities for compliance purposes.

  • Manage the deployment of Tivoli patches and updates on zLinux systems.

  • Set up job dependencies, workflows, and scheduling rules for batch jobs.
