KLA Corporation Expands Globally With Chennai R&D Center

The newly opened facility will enable collaboration across R&D, engineering and product support.

KLA Corporation, a semiconductor company headquartered in the U.S., opened a research and development hub in Chennai. The company’s new facility was developed with a ₹300 crore investment, equal to roughly $36 million, and spans 311,000 square feet, according to reporting by The Times of India.

The new office will accommodate 1,300 employees who will collaborate across R&D, engineering and product support. KLA provides process control and yield management solutions to customers in the semiconductor sector. Its latest Indian expansion builds upon its entry into the market in 2004. Since then, it has continued growing its AI and engineering center of excellence in the region.

KLA’s expansion coincides with the emergence of India’s semiconductor ecosystem, the Times article mentioned. The move furthers the company’s ability to help create devices and ideas that can transform the future and shape human life.
