Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Database Administrator (DBA) with hands-on experience in Oracle, MySQL, and PostgreSQL, along with strong SQL capabilities and foundational exposure to Data Science and AI/ML technologies. The role involves managing, monitoring, and optimizing enterprise databases while supporting analytical workloads and modern automation tools.
The Analyst will be base in Chennai reporting to Manager
What a typical day looks like:
Database Administration & Operations
- Install, configure, upgrade, and maintain Oracle, MySQL, and PostgreSQL databases across development, test, and production environments
- Ensure database availability, reliability, and performance through proactive monitoring and maintenance
- Manage database storage, capacity planning, and housekeeping activities
- Perform backup, restore, and recovery operations to ensure data protection and business continuity
- Implement and manage user accounts, roles, privileges, and security policies
Performance & Troubleshooting
- Write and optimize SQL queries, indexes, and execution plans for optimal performance
- Identify performance bottlenecks and resolve database-related issues efficiently
- Monitor database health using logs, performance metrics, and system tools
- Support application teams with database-level troubleshooting and tuning
- Assist in configuring and supporting replication and high availability solutions
- Understand failover concepts and participate in DR drills and validation exercises
Automation & DevOps Tools
- Use Git & GitHub for version control of database scripts and documentation
- Support automation workflows using Ansible for database-related tasks
- Follow best practices for change management and environment consistency
AI / ML Awareness
- Understand basic neural network concepts and AI/ML workflows
- Understand the difference between model training and model inference, especially from a data dependency and performance standpoint
System & Documentation
- Work comfortably in Linux/Unix environments, using shell commands and database utilities
- Maintain clear documentation for database configurations, procedures, and operational runbooks
- Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams to resolve issues and deliver solutions
- Demonstrate strong problem-solving and analytical skills
The experience we’re looking to add to our team:
- Bachelor’s degree in IT background
- Around 0-3 years of experience
- Good knowledge of SQL & PL
- Good written/oral communication skills in English.
- Proficiency Ansible/ Terraform, Shell and Python
- Good analytical skills and should be a team player.
