Validate and reproduce customer-reported defects, perform functional/regression/integration/smoke/exploratory testing, conduct API and data validation, analyze logs and system behavior, assist root-cause analysis, validate fixes, and collaborate with Support, Product, and Engineering teams to ensure release and production quality.
Role Summary:
Primary responsibility is validating customer-reported defects, reproducing production issues, supporting root cause analysis, performing regression testing of fixes, and ensuring issue resolution quality. This role serves as a foundation for growth into an SDET career path.
Key Responsibilities:
• Reproduce and validate customer-reported issues.
• Own validation of high-priority customer escalations from issue reproduction through closure.
• Perform functional, regression, smoke, integration, and exploratory testing.
• Conduct API validation and data verification.
• Analyse logs, workflows, and system behaviour to isolate issues.
• Assist engineering teams in identifying root causes through systematic investigation and validation.
• Validate bug fixes before release.
• Work closely with Support, Customer Success, Product, and Engineering teams.
• Maintain detailed documentation of findings and test results.
• Participate in release verification and production validation activities.
Required Skills:
• 1–3 years of software testing experience.
• Strong debugging and troubleshooting mindset.
• Experience with API testing tools such as Postman.
• Ability to write and execute SQL queries for data validation and troubleshooting.
• Ability to analyse application logs and troubleshoot production issues.
• Strong understanding of defect lifecycle management.
• Familiarity with Jira/Azure DevOps or similar tools.
• Basic understanding of programming concepts.
• Excellent communication and documentation skills.
Good to Have:
• Automation exposure (Playwright, Selenium).
• Basic programming knowledge.
• Experience handling production/customer escalations.
• SaaS product testing experience.
• Understanding of CI/CD pipelines.
• Demonstrated interest in automation testing and quality engineering.
