About the Role
We are looking for a passionate SAP ABAP Developer to join our global SAP Development team at Maersk. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced, transformation-driven environment as part of our SAP modernization and innovation journey. The ideal candidate will bring solid ABAP expertise and be eager to explore the latest SAP technologies including S/4HANA, OData, CDS, and Fiori.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and deploy SAP ABAP solutions across modules like FI/MM/SD (S/4HANA & ECC).
- Collaborate with solution architects and senior engineers to implement scalable and maintainable code.
- Support the integration of SAP with external/non-SAP systems via ALE/IDoc, RFC, BAPI, etc.
- Participate in Agile product teams to support continuous delivery and DevOps practices.
- Explore and adopt new SAP technologies such as RAP, BRF+, AMDP, CDS, OData, and SAP Fiori/UI5.
- Ensure high-quality development following best practices and coding standards.
- Maintain technical documentation and contribute to code reviews.
- Work with the support team to ensure seamless transition and maintenance post-deployment.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering or equivalent experience.
- 2–6 years of hands-on SAP ABAP development experience.
- Strong experience with Classical/ALV/Interactive Reports, SmartForms, Adobe Forms, Dialog Programming, BDC, Enhancements (BADI, BTE).
- Experience in S/4HANA or SAP ECC environments.
- Familiarity with OData services, CDS Views, BOPF, and SAP NetWeaver Gateway.
- Knowledge of RESTful ABAP Programming Model, AMDP, BRF+, AIF, and performance tuning.
- Exposure to UI5, Fiori, JavaScript, HTML5 is a strong advantage.
- Good understanding of software development lifecycle and Agile methodologies.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Good to Have
- SAP certifications in ABAP or related modules.
- Experience with BRIM/FICA, Workflow (Classical & Flexible), SPAU, OSS Notes.
- Familiarity with enterprise extensibility (in-app/side-by-side) and eDocument handling.
- Background in open-source or other technologies (Python, JavaScript, C++) is a plus
