FLSmidth is seeking a Condition Monitoring Service Development Manager to manage a small team. The manager will be responsible for a team that delivers a platform that enables asset health monitoring and industrial process analysis. We use off-the-shelf solutions like Grafana, Seeq, as well locally installed PLCs and Advanced Control Systems.

Your responsibilities

  • Manage a team of condition-monitoring experts and software engineers who are accountable for the research and development of industrial asset monitoring software and an IoT data connectivity platform
  • Interact with internal stakeholders and other teams within the Technology and Digital Development Organizations
  • Mentor and develop your team while creating a workplace of openness and engagement
  • Facilitate excellent documentation and architectural alignment

Experience with Condition Monitoring concepts and software, Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), Python programming language, and general machine learning concepts is preferred. We realize that it is unlikely that a candidate has experience with all the technologies used in this role. A successful candidate will have a subset with a desire to work using them and experience that would support fast adoption.

  • 6+ years of planning, developing, and delivering consumer software experience
  • Experience partnering with product management teams
  • Experience managing multiple concurrent programs, projects, and development teams in an Agile environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience leading developers in product development and deployment environment
  • Experience working in an industrial domain, preferably mining
  • Experience with industrial sensors, embedded software, and containerized deployments

Key Accountabilities

  • Manage a team of condition-monitoring experts and software engineers who are accountable for the research and development of industrial asset monitoring software and an IoT data connectivity platform
  • Interact with internal stakeholders and other teams within the Technology and Digital Development Organizations
  • Mentor and develop your team while creating a workplace openness and engagement
  • Facilitate excellent documentation and architectural alignment
  • Reviews written diagnostic programs to test integrated software/hardware systems and resolve system faults
  • Reviews functional and technical documentation of systems software programs and code
  • Promotes a culture of personal and team safety, including others who may be affected by the company’s operational activities

A Manager supervises employees (typically entry or experienced level) or large, complex teams of technical and/or other (can be a member of leadership team of a department). Responsibilities typically include setting goals and objectives for team members for achievement of operational results. Problems faced may be difficult but typically are not complex. Ensures policies, practices and procedures are understood and followed by direct reports, customers and stakeholders
