Join us as a Commercial Lending AI Platform Lead, Director

 

We’re undertaking a major commercial lending transformation over the next 3 to 4 years, centred on building an innovative agentic AI platform that will serve lending and broader bank technology needs. We are seeking an experienced and visionary AI Platform Lead to own the end-to-end strategy, design, and execution of this critical platform. 

  • We’re looking for an established leader to be accountable for all aspects of change, run and operational health of all AI platforms across lending 

  • You will lead the strategy,  design, architecture, build, test, implementation, risk, security, stability, resilience, simplification, efficiency, service management and life-cycling of these  AI platforms 

  • Hone your existing skills and be part of an innovative and collaborative team culture 

  • We're offering the role at director level

 

What you'll do 

 

 In this high-impact role, you will: 

  • Lead the strategic vision and roadmap for the Commercial Lending AI Platform, ensuring alignment with business goals and technology innovation. 

  • Drive the architecture and detailed design of the platform, translating strategy into scalable, secure, and resilient technology solutions. 

  • Oversee the full execution lifecycle, including build, test, implementation, risk management, operational health, and ongoing optimisation. 

  • Collaborate closely with senior business stakeholders and product owners to balance priorities and deliver customer-centric solutions. 

  • Embed a strong risk and security culture, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and internal standards. 

  • Own the platform’s financial, commercial, and operational performance, proactively driving improvements and reporting to executive governance.  

 

You’ll also be:  

  • Optimising the scheduling and sequencing of initiatives and achieving agreed targets for the cycle time, risk and cost profiles of your platform 

  • Delivering, owning and maintaining the platform operational stability and performance of technology, including the maintenance of any applications, systems, utilities and tools 

  • Making sure that business solutions are optimal to customer needs and the overall technology strategy and roadmap 

  • Owning the financial, commercial and flow performance of the platform and proactively tracking, reporting and acting to drive the improvements 

  • Delivering regulatory reporting and managing the relevant budgets provided 

 

The skills you'll need 

 

 We are looking for a leader who brings: 

  • Significant experience leading the strategy, design, and execution of AI platforms within large financial institutions, ideally in commercial lending or related domains. 

  • Deep expertise in AI technologies, platform architecture, engineering best practices, and operational excellence. 

  • Strong commercial acumen and the ability to translate complex business requirements into actionable technical solutions. 

  • Proven leadership skills, including Agile and servant leadership, with a track record of delivering complex, multi-team projects through senior governance forums. 

  • Expertise in risk management, financial oversight, and stakeholder collaboration and negotiation. 

  • A passion for innovation and a commitment to building a scalable, efficient, and resilient AI platform that drives business transformation.  

 

You’ll also be expected to have:  

  • Operational, risk management, financial management, collaboration and negotiation experience and expertise 

  • Strong leadership skills, including Agile and servant leadership experience 

  • Architecture, design and engineering skills 

  • An expert understanding of running large complex projects spanning multiple teams and senior governance forums
