Job Description

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Contract Manager to support the delivery of large-scale data centre / mission-critical developments. This role will be responsible for managing the full spectrum of contractual and commercial activities, ensuring that projects are delivered in line with contractual obligations, commercial strategy, and risk management protocols.

The successful candidate will play a key role in administering contracts, managing claims and variations, and supporting procurement and delivery teams across high-value CSA and MEP packages.

 

Key Responsibilities

Contract Administration & Governance

  • Manage and administer contracts across the project lifecycle, ensuring compliance with agreed terms and conditions
  • Oversee contract documentation, including subcontracts, amendments, and change orders
  • Ensure adherence to contract frameworks (e.g., FIDIC, NEC, or bespoke client contracts)
  • Provide guidance to project teams on contractual obligations, rights, and risk exposure

Commercial & Claims Management

  • Lead the assessment and management of variations, claims, and disputes, particularly for MEP and specialist packages
  • Review contractor submissions including EOT (Extension of Time), cost claims, and change requests
  • Support negotiation and resolution of commercial issues with contractors and vendors
  • Maintain detailed records to support commercial positions and dispute avoidance

Procurement & Package Management

  • Support procurement activities including preparation of tender documentation, contract terms, and bid evaluations
  • Provide input on contract strategy for key packages such as:
    • Mechanical systems (HVAC, cooling infrastructure)
    • Electrical systems (MV/LV, UPS, generators)
    • Specialist data centre equipment and installations
  • Ensure contracts are aligned with project delivery strategies and timelines

Risk & Compliance Management

  • Identify and manage contractual and commercial risks across the project
  • Ensure all contractual processes meet internal governance and compliance standards
  • Support risk mitigation strategies through proactive contract management and issue resolution

Stakeholder Management

  • Act as a key point of contact for contractual matters between clients, consultants, contractors, and internal teams
  • Work closely with project managers, cost managers, and engineering teams to ensure alignment
  • Facilitate effective communication and escalation of contractual issues when required

Qualifications

    • Degree in Law, Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Engineering, or related field
    • Typically 10–15 years of experience in contract management within construction or infrastructure projects
    • Strong experience administering contracts for large, complex developments, ideally including data centres or mission-critical facilities
    • Solid understanding of:
      • Contract law and administration
      • Claims and dispute resolution
      • Commercial risk management
    • Experience working with FIDIC, NEC, or similar contract forms
    • Strong negotiation, analytical, and communication skills
