About the role
Position: Cost Controller
Location: Melbourne, VIC (preferable but open to other major AGL Locations)
Employment Type: Permanent Full-time - Hybrid

AGL is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Cost Controller to join our Construction project delivery team. This role is an important role to ensure financial discipline across a portfolio of projects by controlling, forecasting, and reporting project costs. You’ll be instrumental in implementing efficient reporting systems and delivering insights that support informed decision-making across a broad stakeholder base.

Key ResponsibilitiesEnsure compliance with legislation and AGL policies, maintaining a safe working environment for all personnel.
Develop and manage project budgets, including cost estimates, timing, and spend profiles.
Analyse and report actual costs, forecasting final outcomes and highlighting variances.
Maintain accurate cost records aligned with the Work Breakdown Structure and project standards.
Enhance cost control processes, tools, and training to ensure consistent reporting across the project portfolio.
Tertiary qualification in Engineering, Project Management, or a related discipline (preferred).
Industry and project experience, ideally within the energy or a similar sector.
Skills in managing data collection, integrity checks, and analysis for high-quality reporting.
Able to communicate complex financial data to senior stakeholders.
Proficiency in advanced analytics tools such as Power BI and SQL (preferred).
