Job Summary  

The Credit Control – Billing Analyst will support the finance function by managing day-to-day credit control, billing, and debtor activities.
The role focuses on monitoring outstanding receivables, performing debtor reconciliations, supporting debt recovery actions, and ensuring billing accuracy, while strictly adhering to UK financial practices, internal controls, and compliance requirements.

 

Key Responsibilities  

Debt Monitoring  

  • Monitor outstanding customer balances and debtor ageing reports.

  • Track overdue invoices and follow up with customers as per defined credit control processes.

  • Identify high-risk or long-outstanding debts and escalate to the Manager when required.

Billing & Invoicing Support  

  • Review invoices and credit notes for accuracy and completeness.

  • Support timely issuance of invoices and credit notes.

  • Assist in identifying billing discrepancies, missing charges, or incorrect postings.

Payment Follow-ups & Collections  

  • Send payment reminders and follow-up communications to customers.

  • Update collection notes and maintain accurate records of customer interactions.

  • Support tracking of customer payment plans and flag missed or defaulted payments.

Reconciliation & Reporting  

  • Perform regular debtor account reconciliations.

  • Ensure incoming payments are accurately applied to customer accounts.

  • Prepare basic debtor ageing and reconciliation reports for management review.

Payments, Banking & Chargebacks  

  • Assist in chargeback reviews and payment dispute handling.

  • Support direct debit setup, mandate tracking, and validations.

  • Coordinate with internal teams to resolve payment-related issues.

Compliance & Process Adherence  

  • Follow UK finance policies, internal controls, and compliance guidelines.

  • Maintain proper documentation and audit trails.

  • Adhere to SLAs and defined finance processes.


Requirements

Required Skills & Knowledge  

  • Basic to intermediate knowledge of accounting and finance operations.

  • Understanding of credit control and collections processes.

  • Familiarity with UK billing or financial operations (preferred).

  • Strong numerical, reconciliation, and data-handling skills.

  • High attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Good written and verbal communication skills.

Tools & Systems (Preferred)  

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.

  • Experience with VLOOKUP / XLOOKUP and Pivot Tables preferred.
