As a Data Systems Engineer at CMT, you will develop a variety of analytic solutions that will report on car movements and driver behaviors derived from the sensors found in modern smartphones and other devices. You will oversee the creation and delivery of impact assessments by partnering with internal and external stakeholders on data requirements and with the data science team. You will help enhance CMT’s software release analyses, including digging into feature enhancements and validating data prior to it being used by the organization and/or its clients. You will also construct and apply standard statistical analysis and financial models to verify data acceptability and accuracy, and ensure data integrity by implementing quality assurance practices.
Responsibilities:
- Take ownership of dislocation and impact assessment analyses for driving customer adoption of the latest CMT software features
- Perform advanced business analysis using various techniques, including statistical analysis, and predictive modeling
- Develop actionable insights with recommendations for the current business operations or issues
- Partner with Product Owners, Sales, Marketing, Customer Success, and other stakeholders to develop details analyses and presentations for internal and external clients
- Work with CMT data scientists to develop algorithms and models for dashboards and analysis
Implement data strategies, develop implementation plan, and manage to plan with internal stakeholders to ensure compliance with deliverable reporting requirements
- Handle special analytical projects as needed
- Participate in internal and external meetings to present analysis, insights and to propose recommendations
- Complete any additional tasks that may arise
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s (Master’s preferred) in Computer Science, Engineering, Analytics, Physics, Mathematics or Data Science
- 3+ years of experience in the Data Analytics, Engineering or Data Science fields
- Strong SQL knowledge and experience working with relational and non-relational (NoSQL) databases, query authoring (SQL) as well as working familiarity with a variety of databases
- Working knowledge of message queuing, stream processing, and highly scalable ‘big data’ data stores
- Experience performing root cause analysis on internal and external data and processes to answer specific business questions and identify opportunities for improvement
- Thorough knowledge and practice of software development process in large scale, and proven coding skills using scripting languages e.g. Python, Bash
- Strong visualization and data literacy skills, with demonstrated ability to summarize large datasets into simple data visualizations and basic statistical results
