Senior database engineer responsible for installing, configuring, maintaining, and tuning MS SQL Server instances; implementing HA/DR (clustering, mirroring, log shipping, AlwaysOn, replication); troubleshooting performance and deadlocks; managing Azure databases; running proactive health checks and migrations; and supporting BI components (SSIS/SSRS/SSAS) with PowerShell and T-SQL scripting.
"Job Description - Database track Engineer Operational Role: • Experience in installation and configuration of MS SQL Server 2012/2014/2016/2017/2019 versions, upgrades, maintenance plans etc. • Experience in applying necessary SQL Server service packs and CUs / Hot fixes / Security updates • Preparing DR strategies and implementing DR practice tests for mission critical databases to build DR availability confidence • Good knowledge on maintaining databases in Azure • Experience in identifying blockings, deadlocks, index fragmentation, High CPU usage queries. • Good knowledge of using DMV’s and DBCC commands for troubleshooting. • Experience in Configuring Transactional Replication setup, maintenance, and troubleshooting • Experience in HA concepts likes clustering, database mirroring, Log shipping, replication and AlwaysOn • Performing database refreshes between various DB environments • Capacity management which includes planning and recommend the application owners to archive the historical data / data file movement to improve the storage capacity • Standardize SQL Server environment by designing guidelines for SQL Server installation, configuration, storage specifications, CPU, Memory, account, and security to follow best practices and standards • Performance and Tuning, Query optimization using SQL profiler, DTA, Perfmon, DMVs, DBCC and SSMS Proactive health checks • Experience in Business Intelligence components like SSIS, SSRS and SSAS • Responsibility for the success of Migration of databases, SSRS & SSAS • Good technical knowledge on BI Components • knowledge on PowerShell scripting & T-SQL scripting • Good knowledge on Stored procedure, Triggers, functions & join"
