Responsibilities/ task
Key Responsibilities with brief description according to priority
  • Prepare 3D/2D Assembly, installation drawings and Sub-assemblies of cooling system
  • Design & integration of Sheet metal, tubing parts
  • Top down & Bottom-up Assembly, Skeleton Modelling, Drafting, Sheet metal
  • creating BOM Structure in CAD. Strong working knowledge of PLM/Teamcenter/SAP
  • GD&T and part tolerancing as per ASME
  • DFMEA, DFM, DFA, DFS
  • Understand vehicle/sub system functional objectives, inter dependencies, and study the packaging, serviceability and cost implications
  • Understanding RFQ,SOR,TRSO
  • Support in creating Source package and VBOM
  • Ensure daily delivery targets for given CAD tasks
  • Execute engineering tasks viz. tolerance stack up, benchmarking studies, tear down analysis etc.
  • Follow defined Methodology for creation of CATIA / NX models and drawings
  • Follow defined Magna Steyr processes, customer standards and maintain quality and delivery targets in day to day customer deliveries
  • Understand customer requirement, clarify inputs and perform the task accordingly
  • Customer data management
  • Understand project requirements and solve problems in discussion with local as well as global stakeholders
  • Collaborate with CAE and Design teams to define problem statements
  • Coordinate with stakeholders to develop Flow and Thermal analysis requirements for a range of Magna products
  • Interpret, summarize and communicate analysis results to global stakeholders and provide technical and/or design recommendations
  • Develop test plan wherever required to verify simulation model and validate analysis approach in correlation with test findings
  • Perform 1D Simulation to predict vehicle performance, cooling performance, Transmission performance, Battery performance

Educational Qualification
Batchelor's degree in Mechanical / Aerospace/ Thermal Science from reputed institute with exposure to Automotive, Fluid Dynamics and Thermal Engineering as specialization
No. of years of work experience
3 to 5 years
Critical Skill Sets (Technical)
  • Knowledge & understanding of the function and working principle of Vehicle design including EVs
  • Good knowledge about selection and integration of cooling system as per standard supplier FSS series.
  • Good knowledge of specifications for powertrain based on vehicle applications, benchmark, testing and competitor specifications.
  • Basic understanding of manufacturing processes.

CAD Skills:
  • Strong 2D and 3D CAD skills in Catia/NX (Parametric Modelling)

1D Skills
  • Good hands on experience on 1D system level simulation in AMESIM/GT
  • knowledge on Automotive cooling system modelling and actuation system modelling
