Administer and support an Azure data platform including Synapse, Databricks, and ADLS Gen2. Maintain Pulumi IaC across environments, build/monitor CI/CD with GitHub Actions, manage networking and security (MPEs, NSGs, VNets, Key Vault), create Synapse linked services/datasets, monitor pipelines and Spark pools, run operational tasks (patching, backups, access reviews), and build dashboards/log analytics for alerts and observability.
Overall Objectives of job We are seeking an experienced Platform Admin Engineer to join the Allianz Technology UK Data Platform team. Working within the Azure Data Platform (ADP), you will be responsible for the administration, configuration, and support of a modern data ecosystem built on Azure Synapse, Azure Databricks, ADLS Gen2, GitHub Actions CI/CD, and Pulumi Infrastructure-as-Code. You will bring proven hands-on Azure experience and operate with autonomy across cloud administration, data engineering platform support, and DevOps automation in a large enterprise environment. Duties and Responsibilities • Manage and administer Azure cloud infrastructure: Synapse workspaces, Databricks workspaces, ADLS Gen2 storage accounts, and Key Vault configurations. • Configure and troubleshoot Managed Private Endpoints (MPEs), NSGs, VNet settings, and ADLS Gen2 ACLs. • Own and maintain Pulumi IaC scripts for infrastructure changes across Dev, Staging, and Production environments. • Build and maintain Azure Dashboards and Log Analytics: metrics tiles, KQL queries, and alert rules. • Manage routine platform operations: patching schedules, storage lifecycle policies, and resource tagging compliance. • Execute and own runbook tasks for backup verification, access reviews, and scheduled maintenance. • Create and maintain Linked Services and datasets in Synapse Studio using Managed Identity and Key Vault authentication patterns. • Monitor Synapse pipeline runs, investigate and resolve failures, and maintain Spark Pool configurations. • Administer Databricks workspaces: cluster policies, permissions, Secret Scopes, Repos/Git integration, and Workflow job health. • Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions; manage secrets, environment configurations, and protection rules for Dev, Staging, and Production.
