Job Summary

Summary:

The “Director, Business Development” will be based in Sriperumbudur, Chennai reporting to VP Business Development.

In this role, you will be In-charge of qualifying new customers, developing relationship and business with them, achieving pipeline and bookings results according to assigned unipersonal and team targets.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop and implement a regional vision, strategy, short and long term plans that drives business growth, profit, cash flow and ITO in India.
  • Take P&L responsibility; Ensure appropriate controls are in place for a robust financial performance and strong business operating results.
  • Drive the aggressive business growth and achieve short and mid term goals, continuously widen the customer base, deliver solid pipeline and hit rate.
  • Develop, maintain and strengthen solid business relationship with India local and Foreign customers of both OEMs and Tiers.
  • Collaborate closely with cross functional team in regional and global to ensure consistent and efficient use of resources, and maximize customer satisfaction criteria and operational performance.
  • Present the Annual/Quarterly forecast(FOL) and results(WIF) to Asia CBU head, ensure the delivery of Revenue, OP, ITO.
  • Lead Quote activities, Get new RFQ, Launch and lead Quote stages , Work with cross team for cost optimization, Lead negotiation for nomination, Manage the EC/VAVE activities for OP enhancement, Ensure flawless launch and QvA(quote vs actual) implementation.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • Ability, confidence and track record of interfacing with and developing strong relationships with customers.
  • Proven ability to pursue, propose and win new business and a strong urge to win.
  • Experience working in a multinational corporation and ability to manage within a matrix environment without losing focus or a sense of personal responsibility.
  • An ability to support the development of clear, customer-focused business strategies and to help deliver them through gaining customer confidence.
  • Leadership, team spirit, enthusiasm, a relentless approach to the delivery of our core values / purpose (including a well-developed facility to celebrate success) are key characteristics.
  • Strong functional knowledge of both P&L and business intelligence. The knowledge of engineering/PM/supply chain/operations is Plus.
  • Strong sense of urgency and initiative requiring little direction and ability to work independently.
  • Operating with the highest integrity and ethical behavior and maintaining confidentiality.
  • Ability to present effective and persuasive presentations on controversial or complex topics to customers, senior management.

Here is some of what you’ll need (required):

  • 15+ years experience in automotive industry, with proven good customer base networking in 4 wheels, 2 wheels, and Tiers.
  • Automotive or electronics background, and basic P&L sense.
  • Good interpersonal sense & skills, and negotiation skills.
  • Proven abilities and experience in past years on strategy definition, delivering business growth, project experience, and customer executive relationships.
  • Leadership, team spirit, enthusiasm, a relentless approach to the delivery of our core values /traits.
  • Ability to present effective and persuasive presentations on controversial or complex topics to customers and top management.
