Our engineering team builds and operates a rapidly scaling B2B SaaS platform at the intersection of cloud infrastructure, AI/ML-driven insights, and real-world operational systems. We partner closely across product, autonomy, ML, and customer-facing teams to deliver reliable, enterprise-grade solutions. As we expand globally, we are investing in strengthening our cloud architecture and growing our engineering presence in India.
About the Role
The Director of Cloud Engineering will own the architecture, scalability, and operational excellence of our global B2B SaaS platform, shaping the cloud strategy during a high-growth phase. This hands-on leader will evolve AWS and Azure environments, mature ML-driven infrastructure, and design systems and processes that directly impact platform resilience and scalability. You will build at the intersection of AI/ML insights and a mixed hardware/software ecosystem while establishing and growing a strong engineering presence in India—scaling both the platform and the team for international expansion.
What You’ll Do
- Own and evolve multi-cloud architecture across AWS and Azure
- Scale a high-growth B2B SaaS platform to enterprise-grade reliability, performance, and security standards
- Lead cloud security, compliance, DevOps, CI/CD, observability, and cost optimization
- Architect for global expansion, portability, and system decoupling
- Optimize ML and cloud compute infrastructure (including GPU/CPU workloads)
- Establish scaling runbooks, KPIs, and operational best practices
- Provide architectural leadership across major product initiatives
- Lead and scale engineering teams while aligning infrastructure with business objectives
What You’ll Need
- 15+ years of SaaS product experience, including 5+ years owning and scaling a growing platform
- Proven track record architecting and scaling enterprise B2B SaaS products or platforms
- Hands-on expertise with AWS and Azure cloud environments
- Experience building, maturing, and scaling cloud systems
- Experience managing and growing mid-sized engineering teams
- Strong background in enterprise security, compliance, and cloud best practices
Nice to Have
- Experience in logistics, warehousing, or complex B2B system integrations and associated cross-system integrations
- Experience or interest in computer vision or machine learning infrastructure
- Enthusiasm and desire to further support Gather AI's growth by establishing and building out a local office (ideally in Hyderabad)
