Your Opportunity

As an Engagement Lead - Data Science, you will provide technical leadership across two sub-teams: the Predictive AI team and the Causal & Experimentation AI team. In this role, you will architect advanced enterprise AI solutions, mentor data science talent, and serve as a strategic consultant across global business lines including Commercial, R&D, Diagnostics etc.

Beyond team delivery, you will play a pivotal leadership role within the broader GATE organization—actively driving GATE-level people initiatives, talent capability enablement, strategic product development roadmaps, and cross-center innovation activities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Technical Leadership & Mentorship: Lead, mentor, and guide Senior Data Scientists and Data Scientists across Predictive AI and Causal & Experimentation AI sub-teams, fostering technical excellence, modular coding standards, and agile delivery practices.

• Strategic Business Consulting: Act as a trusted AI consultant to global business partners across  to translate complex business challenges into actionable Data Science and AI strategies.

• GATE-Level Leadership & Product Development: Champion GATE-wide initiatives by actively shaping center-level AI product development strategy, contributing to talent enablement and mentorship programs, and driving standard methodologies across the GATE ecosystem.

• Rapid Prototyping & Business Value: Rapidly design and build Proofs of Concept (POCs), prototypes, and business case studies to demonstrate tangible ROI and secure executive buy-in.

• Predictive & Causal AI Solutions: Architect and oversee the development of robust predictive models, causal inference frameworks, and experimental designs (A/B testing, quasi-experiments) to drive decision-making.

• GenAI & Agentic Frameworks: Drive the strategy and implementation of enterprise Generative AI architectures, including Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), fine-tuning techniques, and Agentic AI workflows.

• End-to-End MLOps & Infrastructure: Partner with MLOps and Data Engineering teams to design, operationalize, and maintain end-to-end ML/AI pipelines, ensuring scalable model deployment, continuous monitoring, and automated lifecycle management.

• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with global cross-functional stakeholders in an agile environment, conducting demos, reviews, and retrospectives to continuously improve team deliverables.

Who You Are

• You hold a bachelors or Master’s in Data science, Statistics, Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, Computer Science, Business Analytics, Technology or other related quantitative fields and 12+ years of overall experience in Data Science/AI, with at least 5+ years in leading analytic/ AI product lifecycle and mentorship role guiding AI teams. Experience in Pharmaceutical or Healthcare domain (US/Europe market context) an advantgae

• Renowned and globally recognized professional certifications in Data Science, Machine Learning, Generative AI, Prompt Engineering, Cloud AI Platforms, or advanced Analytics are advantageous

• You are an accomplished AI practitioner and technical lead who thrives in fast-paced, agile engineering environments. You remain close to the code, balancing deep hands-on expertise with a focus on designing, automating, and deploying robust, end-to-end AI systems. Operating at the intersection of Predictive, Causal, and Generative AI, you architect scalable AI automation solutions, mentor engineering talent, and translate complex technical outcomes into strategic business impact for executive stakeholders

• Predictive & Causal AI: Deep expertise in advanced machine learning, predictive modeling, causal inference methods, and experimental design (A/B testing, econometrics)

• Generative & Agentic AI: Hands-on experience with LLMs, Prompt Engineering, RAG, and Fine-tuning techniques. Proven capability building multi-agent architectures using Agentic AI frameworks such as LangChain, AutoGen, or CrewAI

• MLOps Lifecycle & Cloud: Demonstrated experience designing and maintaining end-to-end MLOps pipelines using platforms such as MLflow, Kubeflow, or AWS SageMaker. Proficiency with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes) and AWS cloud infrastructure

• Core Programming & Data Pipelines: Expert proficiency in Python and SQL. Strong experience with modern backend pipeline development tools such as PySpark, and Git/CI/CD pipelines

• Demonstrated ability to consult with executive stakeholders, present business cases, and manage global cross-functional relationships.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with an agile mindset and strong attention to quality.
