Job Summary

To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we’re looking to add an Engineer–Process located in Sriperumbudur

What a typical day looks like:

  • Experience in SMT  Manufacturing process, Establish and manage process that are designed to meet customer specification, delivery and cost reduction.
  • SMT Process development knowledge and thorough knowledge on Reflow, Screen Printing process, Pin in Paste, POP technology
  • Must be experienced in SPI machine programming and Solder paste printer
  • Work on the continuous improvement of the process to achieve the quality (product yield of SMT and Wave soldering machines), cycle time and cost reduction goals
  • Process Continuous improvements for Yield, Implement scrap reduction and reduction on process cycle time
  • Should be able to troubleshoot SMT Process issues
  • Should able to do CPK Study before and after AOI Parameter study for all SPI machines
  • Design & develop tools and fixtures and drive continuous cost reduction in tools and fixtures development.        
  • Ensure proper documentation of all manufacturing process specifications and compliance to the same.       
  • Product Quality improvement through proper analysis of root cause, FMEA, DFM, and implementation of short term / long term corrective action and achieving KPI’s.        
  • Develop reworking methods and improve the reworking skills for SMT / THT PCB Assemblies. 
  • Coordinate with the quote team for new product processes, tools, jigs requirements and implementation
  • Coordinate with the Industrial Engineering team for reduction of cycle time and improvement of productivity

The experience we’re looking to add to our team

  • Typically requires a bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience and training.
  • Typically requires 4+ years of experience
  • Demonstrates operations and technical skills and understanding of Flex’s functional standards. Demonstrates working knowledge of functional concepts and a solid understanding of Flex’s policies and procedures. Typically requires some knowledge of computerized electronic test equipment and programming.
  • Good SMT / Backend Process Knowledge and MSL Level handling
  • Troubleshooting SMT and wave Process issues 
  • Solder Paste and Stencil Fabrication Management and Reflow Profiling
  • Process Continual Improvements for Yield /Reduce scraps/Reduction of Process Cycle time
  • Team handling experience.
