About the role

About the role
The Finance Analyst will support our Technology business unit in the delivery of month-end financial reporting processes, including the recording of OPEX & CAPEX results. This role will be responsible for providing support to annual budget and quarterly forecasting, as well as performance reporting and analysis of labour costs, balance sheet and cashflow items.
This is a 12 month fixed-term role, based in Melbourne.
 

What you’ll be doing

  • Provide timely and accurate financial information and insights to stakeholders across the Technology business unit.

  • Play a key role in financial partnering to respective cost centre managers and their teams.

  • Perform month-end close process to a high standard and in a timely and efficient manner, including identifying and processing monthly accruals and journals.

  • Prepare balance sheet reconciliations as part of the month-end close, as well as the quarterly balance sheet review process.

  • Prepare and communicate business unit management performance reporting.

  • Provide insights on business performance against strategy through variance analysis and commentary.

  • Identify ongoing risks & continuous improvement opportunities to uplift business capabilities.

What you’ll bring

  • Business, Finance or Accounting degree and CA/CPA/ACA qualified.

  • Advanced user of a Finance module of ERP (preferably SAP)

  • Strong understanding of key budget/forecast items (both financial and non-financial) and experience in preparing annual budgets, forecasts and corporate plans.

  • Demonstrated experience in providing financial analysis support to business management within a dynamic and complex industry/organisation.

  • Advanced Excel skills and experience with visualisation tools (e.g., Power BI) highly regarded.

  • Excellent communication skills; ability to clearly communicate key messages to a range of stakeholders (finance and non-finance) across all levels.

  • Ability to work collaboratively with others and build/maintain strong working relationships.
