Build and deploy production-grade integrations, APIs, data pipelines, and AI solutions for enterprise clients. Lead technical discovery, client architecture, infrastructure integration, and stakeholder advising. Implement LLM, fine-tuning, and RAG workflows while identifying recurring customer needs and influencing the product roadmap. The role requires strong software engineering, data, cloud, communication, and customer-facing skills, with 25–50% travel to client sites.
As a Forward Deployed Engineer (FDE), you will operate at the intersection of software engineering, product strategy, and customer success.
You will work directly with our most strategic enterprise clients to understand their deepest operational challenges and build custom, production-grade technical solutions using our platform.
You are not a consultant who leaves behind a slide deck; you are an elite generalist engineer who embeds with clients to write, deploy, and scale code that delivers immediate business value.
Requirements
Key Responsibilities:
- Ship Production Code: Design, build, and deploy custom integrations, APIs, and data pipelines directly within client environments.
- Own Client Architecture: Lead technical discovery, map out complex system architectures, and ensure seamless integration with client infrastructure.
- Scale AI Solutions: Implement practical AI workloads, including Large Language Model (LLMs) integrations, fine-tuning pipelines, and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) frameworks.
- Drive Product Roadmap: Act as the ultimate feedback loop. Identify recurring client pain points and collaborate with core R&D teams to turn custom client fixes into scalable platform features.
- Manage Technical Stakeholders: Serve as the trusted technical advisor to client CTOs, engineering leads, and business executives.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, engineering, math, or equivalent practical experience.
- Engineering Power: 3+ years of professional software development experience in languages like Python, Go, Java, or TypeScript.
- Systems & Data: Strong proficiency in SQL, data modeling, API design (REST/gRPC), and cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
- Communication: Exceptional ability to explain highly technical concepts plainly to non-technical business leaders.
- Mobility: Willingness to travel to client sites as needed (typically 25-50%).
Preferred Qualifications:
- AI/ML Implementation: Hands-on experience building with LLM APIs, vector databases (e.g., Pinecone, Milvus), and orchestration frameworks (e.g., LangChain, Llama Index).
- Enterprise Savvy: Previous experience in a customer-facing engineering role (Solutions Architecture, Technical Consulting, or Forward Deployed Engineering).
- Infrastructure Fluency: Solid understanding of Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines, and enterprise security frameworks.
- Adaptability: Proven track record of thriving in ambiguous environments and moving fast from 0 to 1.

What you need to know about the Chennai Tech Scene
To locals, it's no secret that South India is leading the charge in big data infrastructure. While the environmental impact of data centers has long been a concern, emerging hubs like Chennai are favored by companies seeking ready access to renewable energy resources, which provide more sustainable and cost-effective solutions. As a result, Chennai, along with neighboring Bengaluru and Hyderabad, is poised for significant growth, with a projected 65 percent increase in data center capacity over the next decade.
