Global Business Services (GBS) – Tax
GBS Tax, as a part of the Global Tax & Structure team, handles the operational aspects of tax compliance and reporting for the FLSmidth Group.  You will be a part of a small team of tax professionals based in Chennai, India servicing the global FLSmidth business. The role reports to our GBS Tax – Head of Tax Financial Reporting who is based in Chennai.

Your responsibilities
Specifically to deliver operational activities to ensure that FLSmidth meets our obligations globally regarding the financial reporting of taxes:
 

  • Calculate and document tax assets, liabilities and expense in accordance with IFRS IAS 12.
  • Undertake financial reporting of taxes for Group consolidation and local GAAP purposes.
  • Calculate and report the Book to Tax true up.
  • Forecast tax balances and cash tax requirements.
  • Support the identification, development and implementation of strategies to enhance tax control frameworks and process efficiencies for the financial reporting of taxes.

What you bring

  • Subject matter expertise - IFRS IAS 12 and accounting for taxes
  • Graduate level qualifications in Finance, Accounting, Economics or Law.
  • Chartered Accountant registration or equivalent
  • Experience (Min 4+ years post qualification) in the calculation and financial reporting of taxes for multinational business gained through professional advisory firms and/or in-house centres of excellence.
  • Proficient financial analysis skills, familiarity with ERP and tax data systems.
  • Ability to set priorities, plan, organize and work effectively under pressure to tight deadlines both personally and within a team.
  • Fluent English language (oral & written) and interpersonal communication skills to work efficiently and productively with a diverse group of stakeholders, advisors and colleagues on a daily basis.
