This role involves supporting and monitoring cloud infrastructure, automating solutions for clients, and managing costs, security, and compliance in cloud environments.
As a Cloud Services Engineer, you will assist in building automation and services to help clients operate their workloads and infrastructure, securely and cost-effectively in the cloud.
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of cloud-based platforms, especially AWS, Azure, and GCP, with a specialization in GCP. This person will have experience with Cloud Deployment Manager, Cost Management, Cloud Monitoring, Networking and other GCP services required to manage workloads in Cloud, as well as cloud-based tools such as Terraform, CloudCheckr, Cloud Guard, Dome9, Prisma Cloud, Cloud Health, and Cloud ability. In addition, familiarity with Linux and Windows operating systems, networking, production operations, and software deployment is important.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Day to day support and monitoring of client’s cloud-based infrastructure.
- Weekly discussions with clients to review outstanding issues and changes, and discuss proposals for improving the client’s environments,
- Development of automated solutions to monitor and support cloud-based infrastructure.
- Configuration and tuning of cloud-based tools, managing cost, security, and compliance for the client’s environments.
- Provide consultation and monthly reports with respect to the client’s cloud-based infrastructure.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Mathematics, or related field
- 2-3 years of relevant operational experience
- Professional level certification(s) in Google Cloud Platform
- Client relationship skills and experience managing vendors
- Working expertise in developing Cloud Deployment Manager, CloudFormation, Azure Resource Manager, and Terraform templates
- Experience with Linux/Unix and Windows system administration
- Familiarity with scripting languages – Python, Bash, PowerShell with expertise in one of the languages
- Expertise with tools for managing Cost, Security, and Compliance in the Public Cloud – (e.g.CloudCheckr, Cloud Guard Dome9, Cloud Health, Cloud Prisma, Cloud ability)
- Expertise with GCP native services – for example: Cloud Monitoring, Cloud Trace, Cloud VPN, Cloud Identity, Cloud Build, CloudTrail, Cloud Monitoring, App Engine
- Experience with service portals and ticketing systems for Incident and Change Management
- Expertise in managing GCP workloads in large environments
- Working knowledge of Cloud Migrations, Cloud Networking and Cloud Identity
- Strong verbal and written communication skills

- Good familiarity with TCP/IP protocols and applications
