Job Purpose :

To support the AFM/Finance Manager in managing General Ledger activities, ensuring accurate and timely recording, reconciliation and reporting of financial transactions. The role is responsible to support for cash and bank reconciliations, foreign currency accounting and revaluation, intercompany accounting and reconciliations, balance sheet schedules, audit support and automations & UAT support in the GL team.

Duties and Responsibilities :

• Strong knowledge of General Ledger accounting and financial accounting principles.
  
• Good understanding of balance sheet reconciliations and month-end closing activities.
  
• Working knowledge of foreign currency accounting, exchange rates and foreign currency revaluation.
  
• Good understanding of intercompany accounting and reconciliation processes. 
  
• Knowledge of financial controls, accounting policies and audit requirements. 
  
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a high level of attention to detail. 
  
• Ability to identify discrepancies, investigate root causes and drive timely resolution. 
  
• Good organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet reporting deadlines.
•  Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively with stakeholders across different functions, countries and cultures.
• Proactive approach with the ability to identify process improvement opportunities.
• High level of integrity, honesty, transparency and professional accountability.
• Ability to work effectively in a multinational and multicultural working environment
• Assess activities for automation opportunities and support UAT and implementation as required.
• Demonstrate flexibility in taking up new responsibilities and initiatives based on business requirements.

Knowledge, Skills And Abilties :

Essential

• Strong knowledge of General Ledger, financial accounting, month-end close and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Good knowledge of intercompany accounting, foreign currency accounting and revaluation.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and attention-to-detail
• Effective communication, stakeholder coordination and team management
• Proactive, flexible and positive approach towards changing priorities, new initiatives and process improvements.
• Ability to accept feedback constructively and maintain professional and respectful relationships with reporting managers, peers and team members.
• Strong focus on accuracy, timeliness, controls and accountability.

Desirable

• Knowledge of shipping/logistics industry.
• Experience with ERP finance systems.
• Knowledge of IFRS or international accounting standards.
• Experience in shared services/global finance environments.
• Exposure to finance automation, UAT and process standardization.
• Advanced MS Excel and financial reporting skills.
• Work experience in U4F accounting software & HFM application.

Education, and professional qualification :

Essential

• MBA in Finance/Accounting.
• Professional qualification such as CMA Inter, CA Inter.
• 3–5 years of relevant accounting/finance experience
• Practical experience in GL, reconciliations, intercompany and foreign currency accounting.
• Ability to work independently and meet month-end and reporting deadlines

Desirable :

• Professional qualification such as CMA Final, CA Final Or Equivalent.
• Shipping/logistics industry experience.
• Knowledge of IFRS or international accounting standards.
  

Other requirements :

Essential:

• Advanced MS Excel and financial reporting skills.
