Job Description: Senior Project Manager
Provides expert-level Project Management and Program Management for across multiple functional and technical units within the firm.
Experience:
 

  • 10 -15 years' experience in an IT Project Management role including considerable experience managing large and multiple concurrent projects
  • Expert knowledge of Project Management methodology, tools, and techniques.
  • Experienced in managing end-to-end Application Development & Deployment, Infrastructure & Cyber projects.
  • Experienced in methods of estimating time and resources for task assignments and resource-levelling.
  • Strong analytical and collaborative skills.
  • Advanced leadership and general management skills, including advanced negotiation and conflict resolution capabilities.
  • Expert-level organization and planning skills
  • Strong mentoring and coaching skills
  • Experience in managing project teams of 10 or more people including onsite/offshore resources
  • Experience developing/managing medium to large project schedules
  • Experience in managing vendors and ensuring contract terms are met

Qualifications:

  • B.Tech / MCA /MBA
  • PMP is MUST and knowledge of other current methodologies
  • SAFe certifications are preferred
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills required, along with strong analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Must be able to easily grasp and communicate complex ideas.

Responsibilities:
 

  • Assigned to multiple projects of medium to the large scale of high business value. Works closely with sponsors, stakeholders, technical and non-technical resources, and management to execute strategic large projects that range in scope, budget, and team size involving moderate to high-levels of risk and complexity.
  • Need to manage portfolios and programs. Responsible for end-to-end project management, preparing and maintaining schedules, reporting on project KPIs, partner with teams, vendors & partners for successful delivery.
  • Managing all aspects of SDLC and Project Delivery Process for projects, adhering to set audit standards.
  • Executes project management methodologies and standards including those within the PMO Project Delivery Process and SDLC, PMI PMBOK, and PMO audit procedures, and also ensures they are followed by project team members.
  • Responsible for providing and maintaining accurate and timely project information in all project plans, communications, status reporting, Project Management Tools & Delivery Portals.
  • Responsible for effective project kick-off, identification of all project stakeholders, and defining and clarifying project roles and responsibilities.
  • Proposes changes to PMO methodologies, frameworks, and best practices for continuous process improvement; participates in teams that undertake continuous process improvement initiatives.
  • Leads cross-functional project teams by task assignment and follows up to ensure on-time completion.
  • Detailed tasks include developing/managing/maintaining comprehensive, accurate project plans and schedules, as well as performing estimation, forecasting, planning, analysis, issue/risk/change management, escalation management, meeting facilitation, variance analysis, and status reporting.
  • Conducts regular project reviews and communicate the status of projects in both formal and informal settings.
  • Responsible for knowing and communicating a project’s status accurately throughout the project lifecycle. This may include presenting status to business/technical steering committees.
  • Provides regular and timely feedback to team members and their respective managers; is proactive in the identification and resolution of issues that may negatively impact a project or project deliverables; seeks and implements innovative ways to remove project obstacles.
  • Motivates and leads project teams and instills a mindset of collaboration and continuous process improvement.
  • Drives for results, motivates team while constantly driving towards key milestones. Maintains a constant awareness of project deliverables; keeps team focused on short and long-term milestones; aware of the project timeline and budget.
  • Demonstrated ability to “think outside the box” while identifying problems and developing creative solutions.
  • Demonstrates an advanced understanding of both quality assurance and software development processes and methodologies, with the ability to share knowledge with peers, development and QA groups, and project team members.
  • Informally mentors other non-PMO team members on structured methodology, and best practices.
  • Work effectively as a member of a team and independently; perform work effectively with minimal supervision
  • Maintain a high degree of customer/client / sponsor satisfaction while also maintaining necessary project controls
  • Coach & Mentor resources on Project Management & skill development
  • Manage & Coach a team of 3-4 people
  • Training new hires & conduct interviews to help build a dedicated team

Tools and Technologies:
 

  • Extensive experience with core PM tools including Jira, Microsoft Project Server, Microsoft Project Professional, Microsoft SharePoint, Windows SharePoint Services, Microsoft Teams, Microsoft Office Professional (Outlook, Word, Excel, Visio, Access, etc.), and others
  • Expert knowledge of Project Management methodology, tools, and techniques.
  • Experienced in managing end-to-end Application Development, Application Deployment, Infrastructure or Cyber projects.
  • Experienced in methods of estimating time, resources, and cost for task assignments and resource-levelling.
  • Strong analytical and collaborative skills & s trong mentoring and coaching skills
