Job summary

A Material Master Data Engineer is responsible for ensuring the accuracy, consistency, and completeness of material master data within an organization's SAP/PDM system. They manage and maintain this data, troubleshoot issues, and collaborate with various teams to support business processes, reporting, and system migrations. This role also involves data quality management, process improvement, and potentially participating in system upgrades or implementations related to material master data.

Key Responsibilities

  • Creating, updating, blocking, and releasing material master records. 
  • Ensuring data accuracy, consistency, and completeness across all relevant SAP modules and systems. 
  • Managing material master data within SAP ECC / S/4HANA or SAP Product Lifecycle Management based on business requirements. 
  • Troubleshooting master data issues and resolving data discrepancies. 
  • Developing and implementing data governance policies and procedures. 
  • Monitoring data quality, conducting regular audits, and identifying areas for improvement. 
  • Ensuring adherence to data standards and compliance requirements. 
  • Collaborating with product development teams to ensure seamless integration of material master data with PLM processes. 
  • Working with other functional consultants to ensure integration with SAP modules like Sales & Distribution (SD), Production Planning (PP), and Finance (FI). 
  • Identifying opportunities to optimize material master data processes.
  • Developing functional specifications for material master enhancements and configurations. 
  • Providing training and support to end-users on material master data management processes. 
  • Participating in system testing and implementation activities. 
  • Actively participating in data-related projects, including system upgrades, migrations, and implementations. 
  • Contributing to the design and implementation of data solutions to meet business needs. 
  • Utilizing SAP MDG (Master Data Governance) tools and technologies. 
  • Understanding SAP data structures and interfaces. 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting.
  • VariPDM tool and Winshuttle usage experience

Education: BE Mechanical.

Skills: Proficiency in data analysis, advance excel and Macro, Power BI, ERP systems(SAP), and procurement tool , Presentation skills

Experience: Previous experience in supply chain management material master.

Attributes: Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, excellent communication, and ability to work collaboratively with global stakeholders
