Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and strategic leader to develop and implement an enterprise-wide vision and roadmap for creating, managing, and deploying technical content to support our customers' training, maintenance, troubleshooting, and performance optimization needs for complex equipment globally. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in technical writing, instructional design, multimedia development, and content management systems.
Responsibilities:

Develop and execute a comprehensive technical content strategy aligned with business goals, customer needs, and industry best practices.

Lead a cross-functional team of technical writers, engineers, instructional designers, multimedia developers, content managers and/or vendor partners to create high-quality, engaging, and effective technical content (e.g., Operations, Parts manuals, training materials, language translations, how-to guides, troubleshooting resources, animations, videos, interactive manuals/3D models).

Lead an expanding team of Content Strategists and interact with senior leaders to build new opportunities across our client engagements.

Establish and enforce standards, processes, and workflows for content development, review, approval, and deployment across multiple output formats and delivery channels.

Implement and manage a centralized, scalable, and secure content repository to store, organize, and version control all technical content assets.

Collaborate with subject matter experts, product teams, and customer support to gather requirements, validate content accuracy, and ensure content meets users' needs.

Leverage emerging technologies (e.g., augmented reality, virtual reality) to enhance the user experience and improve content effectiveness.

Analyze content performance metrics, user feedback, and industry trends to continuously improve and optimize the content strategy and offerings.

Develop and manage the technical content budget, resources, and vendor relationships.

Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory requirements, intellectual property rights, and data security protocols.
Relevant work experience:
-
Proven expertise in developing and managing technical content for industrial manufacturing equipment, preferred.

Strong understanding of content management systems, authoring tools, multimedia development software and 3D modelling software such as SolidWorks.

Excellent project management, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

Ability to lead and mentor cross-functional and cross-regional teams in a collaborative environment.

Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to diverse audiences.

Experience with emerging technologies, such as AI, augmented reality, virtual reality, and interactive 3D modeling, is a plus.

Familiarity with relevant industry standards, regulations, and best practices.
Supervisory duties: 20 to 40%
Travel: 20 to 40% in a year based on requirements
Education: Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, with advanced degree/certifications in Technical Communication, Instructional Design or related field.
Experience: Relevant industry experience of 15+ years, with a minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in technical content development, instructional design, or multimedia production, with at least 5 years in a leadership role. Experience working in a large multi-divisional, multilingual organization will be an added advantage.
