Will be a key member of a Cloud Engineering team dedicated to building and advancing CI/CD and IaC automation frameworks, enhancing Trimble’s technologies, and delivering an intuitive and reliable product experience for our customers. We’re looking for someone highly skilled, motivated, and collaborative—someone with strong experience in building cloud infrastructure, automating deployments, and ensuring reliability, while also supporting and maintaining networking operations across AWS, Azure, GCP, and on-prem environments. You should be comfortable working with cloud networking, VPNs, routing, and firewall ecosystems, and staying current with rapidly evolving technologies in this space. Above all, you bring a quality-first mindset and are ready to roll up your sleeves for the next big challenge.

Key Responsibilities
  • Build, maintain, and optimize AWS cloud infrastructure using Terraform, Python automation, and CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions/Jenkins).

  • Automate deployments and operational tasks using Terraform, Ansible, and shell scripting.

  • Ensure cloud security, compliance, cost optimization, and adherence to DevOps best practices.

  • Troubleshoot complex production issues, participate in on-call rotations, and develop self-healing and reliability solutions.
Lead and guide a global SRE/DevOps team, promoting reliability practices such as error budgets and blameless retrospectives.

  • Manage VPNs, routing, and firewall configurations across AWS, on-prem, and multi-cloud environments (Fortigate, BGP, IPSec, TGW, VPC/VNET routing).

  • Oversee Developer VPN onboarding and maintenance, hybrid connectivity troubleshooting, DNS configuration, and load balancer management (Nginx).

  • Support cross-cloud networking initiatives (AWS, Azure, GCP), including site-to-site connectivity and Fortigate infrastructure setup.

  • Enhance network automation and IaC practices for firewall rules, VPN provisioning, and network configurations.

Required Skills and Experience
  • Minimum 3+ years experience in DevOps and 2+ years in Networking.

  • History of supporting applications and infrastructure in Production.

  • Experience in capacity planning and cost optimization.

  • Deep understanding of Linux/Unix operating systems.

  • Experience with IaC tools (Terraform, CloudFormation).

  • Strong infrastructure as code (IaC) and system administration skills.

  • Hands-on experience with AWS cloud services.

  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure and networking issues.

  • Experience with VPNs, firewalls (Fortigate), IPSec tunnels, routing, and BGP.

  • Experience with AWS networking components (VPC, Transit Gateway, routing).

  • Knowledge of Azure networking, DNS, and hybrid connectivity.

  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.

Desirable Skills and Experience
  • AWS Certification (must).

  • Experience with microservice architecture.

  • Strong Python or other high-level programming experience.

  • Experience with SaaS monitoring toolsets (Datadog, SumoLogic, PagerDuty, ELK, Grafana).

  • Experience in Atlassian tools: Bitbucket, Jira, Confluence, GitHub.

  • Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases.

  • Experience with Jenkins/Bamboo/Git for CI/CD.

  • Experience in Kubernetes is an added advantage.

  • Extensive experience with AWS App Service, AWS Functions, and other AWS services.

  • Proven experience designing multi-region architectures for high availability and disaster recovery.

  • Strong knowledge of GitHub workflows for CI/CD pipeline implementation and management.

  • Experience with Cisco routers, Nginx load balancers, and Fortigate CLI.

  • Experience automating network operations using Terraform (Fortigate providers/modules preferred).

What you need to know about the Chennai Tech Scene

To locals, it's no secret that South India is leading the charge in big data infrastructure. While the environmental impact of data centers has long been a concern, emerging hubs like Chennai are favored by companies seeking ready access to renewable energy resources, which provide more sustainable and cost-effective solutions. As a result, Chennai, along with neighboring Bengaluru and Hyderabad, is poised for significant growth, with a projected 65 percent increase in data center capacity over the next decade.
