We are looking for “Lead Engineer Specialist, Plant Engineering” to be based in Chennai, India. This position reports to “Manager, Engineering, India”.  In this position you will have an opportunity to carry out all engineering activities associated with Plant Engineering for all kinds of projects and also carry out Plant design modeling wherever required and to play a lead engineer role if nominated in coordinating, directing and carrying out all activities of engineering.

In this position, you will be required to,

  • Develop and carry out engineering for plant engineering including layout, equipment, piping, support engineering, detailed design and associated engineering calculations.
  • To carry out basic modeling of Pulp mill areas like Cooking, Fiber line, and Pulp Drying, consisting of various Equipment’s, platform, structures and other items considering various aspects such as operation, maintenance, Access requirements etc., load data for structures, general arrangement drawings etc.
  • To coordinate with all agencies for receipt of inputs and maintain schedule.
  • To provide deliverables meeting the quality requirements.
  • Managing and development of reporting engineers/Designers.

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Mechanical Engineering Graduate with 15 - 20 years of Experience
  • Plant Layout and Detail engineering of Pulp mill area like Cooking, Fiber line, and Pulp Drying.
  • Detail engineering knowledge of equipment, Piping along with experience in support engineering
  • Good Knowledge on ASME and EN codes, strength calculation.
  • Good knowledge on flexibility analysis
  • Good Communication skills in English
  • Leading the team of Engineers / designers
  • Coordinating with Shop, Site and other Engineering units.
  • Exposure on software COMOS, M files, AutoCAD, E3d, Navis, Caesar II, Rohr II etc.
