As a Lead Software Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the Commercial and Investment Bank's Equities Tech Group , you are an integral part of an agile team that works to enhance, build and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable and scalable way. As a core technical contributor, you are responsible for conducting critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm's business objectives.
Job responsibilities
- Execute creative software solutions, design, development and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems
- Identify opportunities to eliminate or automate remediation of recurring issues to improve overall operational stability of software applications and systems
- Lead evaluation sessions with external vendors, startups and internal teams to drive outcomes-oriented probing of architectural designs, technical credentials and applicability for use within existing systems and information architecture
- Lead communities of practice across Software Engineering to drive awareness and use of new and leading-edge technologies
- Complete Dev Ops and integration activities including analysis, deployment in UAT, manage underlying infra, validate software functionalities and own releases to the production environments
- Implement Test Automation using Python based in house tools
- Support and execute the application testing phase, encompassing both internal testing and exchange-driven testing and coordinate with other technology teams to conduct cross-application integration testing
- Manage release processes, including integrating changes into release tickets for various applications and coordinating/communicating with stakeholders.
- Implement resiliency design and setup, including persistence replication, failover and disaster recovery/high availability architecture.
- Engage in the entire software development lifecycle including requirements gathering, design, implementation, testing, deployment and handover to support teams and share responsibility with teammates for supporting development, UAT and Production environments.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience.
- Strong analytical development skills, solid understanding of computer science fundamentals.
- Proficiency in using a programming language such as Python
- Good knowledge of Unix/Linux commands and shell scripting
- Strong Electronic Trading technology domain knowledge
- Good understanding of FIX and other financial messaging protocols
- Hands on experience in test automation and tools
- Experience with GIT, Jira, Confluence, Wiki
- Experience in using Jenkins pipelines and building CI/CD pipelines.
- Excellent verbal & written communication skills.
